This week marked one year since the mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. According to the latest national NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist Poll, the urgency for Congress to act on gun control measures has waned, but consensus exists on specific legislative proposals to curb such violence. The survey, which reveals notable racial differences, also presents attitudes toward school safety, opinions of the Parkland students and their impact on the gun debate, and views of the NRA.
