  • Coincidences? Entrepreneur Steven Danza, Boca Lago Country Club; Vinny Adinolfi & The Bronx Wanderers

What Are The Chances? A Strange Set of Coincidences And Connections From NY To Vegas To Boca Raton Fla. Has Led To Entrepreneur Steven Danza being in studio with me today. Steven recently bought the Boca Lago Country Club In Boca Raton Fla. and today's the final completion of a 10M major renovation there which includes a new golf course, club house etc. He's very excited. Steven wanted to woo a WOW New Years Eve act for his 2019 Grand Kickoff. His gal Leslie said. "You've got get The Bronx Wanderers". Steven, who's from the Bronx himself, never heard of them, even though they're killing it in Las Vegas at Bally's Las Vegas and just won Best New Show. Steven booked them anyway, and they will be rocking in Boca for New Years Eve. Today Live on the show, I'm going to introduce Steven Danza from NY To Vinny Adinolfi of The Bronx Wanderers In Las Vegas for the first time. How do I know them both? The back story is below LOL. Fun show today. Tune In 10:06 am EST The Debbie Nigro Show 1490 WGCH

    The Back Story:
Las Vegas: A year and a half ago I went to Las Vegas to meet up with Aunt Linda to celebrate my birthday. She got us tickets to Menopause The Musical. A riot! We danced the finale on stage with the cast. (no big surprise as we share the 'fun' gene). Afterwards we bonded with the Producers Kathi Glist and Alan Glist (Partners along with Kenneth Greenblatt and Seth Greenleaf of GFour Productions) who invited us to their other show in town The Bronx Wanderers. Aunt Linda and I both ended up singing with star 'Yo Vinny" Vinny Adinolfi during the show. (That darn Nigro fun gene won't quit) ). I went back to Vegas this year and loved The Bronx Wanderers so much I saw them again (and sang with Vinny again). I've showcased Vinny on my show before because his talent and and that of his group and his story are amazing! We've bonded.

    Back to Boca:
After a lifetime in NY Aunt Linda moves to Boca Lago in Boca Raton Fla. She heard someone from NY was buying the Club there. She becomes friends with new owner Steven Danza. She hears he's considering The Bronx Wanderers for New Years and says you gotta get them and doubles up on getting him connected to get them booked.

    Back to NY:
Steven Danza went to an all boys school in New Rochelle, NY called Iona. Aunt Linda said he knew my late brothers from there. I went to the sister all girl school in town. Aunt Linda introduces me to Steven and while on the phone Steven says, Debbie - I can't believe you don't remember me from 4000 years ago? LOL. I said, I can't believe you don't know about The Bronx Wanderers? They are AMAZING and I cannot believe they're leaving Las Vegas to launch 2019 at your new club in Boca! And so today's show came about.

    Back To Vegas:
The Bronx Wanderers who have been playing to sellout audiences in Las Vegas will be the featured musical act at Boca Lago Country Club’s New Year’s Eve Gala on Monday, December 31. The Gala includes hors d’oeuvres, open bar, a three-course dinner and is open to club members and the public.

“The Bronx Wanderers are a tight, melodic rock band of black leather jacket-type guys whose million dollar smiles quickly explode the tough guy persona,” wrote Sam Wagmeister in a review for The Vegas Voice. “Each talented band member is a showman in their own right and has an opportunity to exhibit their exceptional talents in solos and songs.”

The New Year’s Eve Gala, which is open to members and outside guests, will begin at 7:45 p.m. with dinner and opening entertainment from Heather Parcells, who has appeared in six Broadway shows.

Tickets are $175 plus tax per person and available by calling Boca Lago Country Club at (561) 482-5000 or sending an email to [email protected].
Overnight accommodations and packages are available at the nearby Hilton Boca Raton Suites.

Feels Like He Should Be My Cousin Vinny. Vinny Adinolfi "Yo Vinny" of The Bronx Wanderers joins the show today live from Las Vegas so I can introduce him to Steven Danza whose Boca Lago Country Club he'll be appearing at New Years Eve. Vinny and his kids and their high school pals make up the group that have hit it big in Las Vegas! In only 2 years at Bally's Las Vegas, the show has been voted #9 out of 180 Shows Vinny calls it 'a lucky rags to riches story. I can assure you when you see them perform for yourself - it was destiny. Vinny is so warm and TALENTED! A record producer most of his life, and family man, he finally went for his dream, and took his family along. Nothing is more inspiring and exciting than watching him nail it on stage at the age 60, while telling family and music back stories of how he got there. When it comes to music and life Vinny has learned... 'You can't stop good!

  • Atria Darien Residents Bob Mitchell and Sally Donohue Performing Old Time Radio Show on "Senior Circuit!"

If You Know Me You Know I'm Ageless Timeless AND Weightless and Gravitate Toward The Same! That's why I'm excited about todays' in studio guests, Atria Darien residents Bob Mitchell and Sally Donohue (first and second from the right in the photo below). They've created an old time radio show called "The Magnificent Montague" and taken it on the road to perform on the 'Senior Circuit'! Bob and Sally are the main characters so I thought I could have some fun with them today on the air by showcasing some 'ol time radio' inside some newfangled radio. (Just in case they need another 'character") I might just turn on Facebook Live and make it a 'Debbie Doublecast' this morning so watch for that!

There's a Double Message to todays show as well.
It's about 'aging well'. Never in human history have so many lived so long. Some Research from Fidelity: The average American can expect to spend about 30 years or more in retirement. For a 65-year-old couple today, there’s a 50 percent chance one will live to the age of 92 and a 25 percent chance one will live to the age of 97.

Older adults need to keep thriving. They have extraordinary potential to 'keep living it up".

Back Story On Todays' Show: I had a Random Run In with Janis Knorr, Executive Director, Atria Senior Living in Darien, CT while at a festive food event. We bonded on mutual positive energy and food. She insisted I come join her for lunch and taste the chefs food at Atria. Never one to tun down a meal, one day I went. Talk about positive energy - I walked into what looked like a bustling 5 Star Hotel. I wanted to move in. The place is vibrant like their two resident radio guests we will meet today.

After I told them they should use this Line:
"Looks Like a 5 Star Hotel. Surprise! It’s ATRIA Senior Living... where residents are having too much fun!

Looking forward to some fun on the air today 1490 WGCH on The Debbie Nigro Show

BTW : Atria Senior Living has seven communities serving Fairfield, CT and Westchester, NY families.

  • Modern Yogi's Take On The Relevance of Ancient Yoga - Sindy Warren, "Radi8"

"Only Kidding?" Vitamin D and omega-3 supplements don't work to prevent cancer or heart disease? Well that's what a new study finds according to CNN Health in the report By Nina Avramova. Lead researcher on the study Dr. JoAnn E. Manson, chief of the Division of Preventive Medicine at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and professor at Harvard Medical School, said the study distinguishes itself because it is the world's largest randomized trial of its kind. The trial enrolled more than 25,000 Americans of various ethnicities who were over the age of 50 and had no history of cancer, heart attack, stroke or other forms of heart disease.
Participants were randomly assigned a daily dose of vitamin D, omega-3 or a placebo. After more than five years, no significant heart disease or cancer difference was seen between those taking supplements and those taking a placebo.

Victoria Taylor, senior dietitian at the British Heart Foundation is quoted as saying, "If you eat a healthy, balanced Mediterranean style diet, you should be able to get all the nutrients that you need to protect you from heart and circulatory diseases

How About A Modern Yogi's Take On The Relevance of Ancient Yoga Philosophy? Yoga can be a little intimidating for some, so certified yoga and meditation teacher Sindy Warren decided to write a book to make it relatable to all. It's called "RADI8: Using the Practice of Yoga to Cultivate Your Inner Shine". Fans of Sindy say she has a rare gift of making Yoga personal and relatable. While it is often the physical practice that first entices students to the mat, it is typically a combination of benefits that keeps them coming back and it was the same for Sindy says she quickly felt the practice of yoga bringing positivity, growth and joy to all areas of her life. As a result, she is committed to empowering others to live their best lives.

Sindy Warren obtained her advanced teacher training certification with Rolf Gates. She has also studied with Amy Ippoliti and Jason Crandell. In addition, she is a mindfulness meditation teacher, certified through The Mindfulness Center in Bethesda Maryland.

In addition to teaching yoga, Sindy has an employment law consulting business, Warren & Associates LLC. A Stanford Law School graduate, and works with employers to create and maintain positive working environments and legally compliant employment practices.

  • Random Acts of Kindness? World Kindness Day & Paul Lambert LIVE from Wildfires in California

Have You Ever Performed A Random Act of Kindness? Would be so great if you would share a comment or two about what you've done that might inspire others to do the same. Being kind is not hard. It matters. It makes people smile. I'm 'all in' on doing my part to make the world a kinder place. 'Random Acts of Kindness' have always been my secret thing. I perform them often.
I'm convinced 'what goes around comes around'.
I always extend compliments to random strangers. I've randomly paid for candy for little kids I've seen come up short at a counter. I help carry stuff for older people. I once gave a fur vest off my back to a senior who admired it and said she always wished she could afford one. On a vacation once I took brand new sandals off my feet to give to a young hard working girl who was dazzled by them. And on and on. Geezus it makes me smile.

So today on WORLD KINDNESS DAY 2018 I ask you all to perform one Random Act of Kindness. Could be anything. You'll be part of the worldwide celebration of kindness held every November 13th. Today people around the world will attempt to make the world a better place by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organizations.

For The Record: World Kindness Day was first launched in 1998 by The World Kindness Movement, an organization formed at a 1997 Tokyo conference of like-minded kindness organizations from around the world. There are currently over 28 nations involved in The World Kindness Movement which is not affiliated with any religion or political movement. The mission of the World Kindness Movement and World Kindness Day is to create a kinder world by inspiring individuals and nations towards greater kindness.

Panic, Emotional Distress, and disruption. 42 Dead. Many more missing and unaccounted for. 7000 homes and structures burned to the ground . Over 100,000 evacuated. It is painful to even type this.
