I am a huge fan of women who ‘go for it” and start their own businesses . I know how hard it is. Trust me . I am one of them. SO... I was searching for just the right Sponsor Partner who would 'get' that 'authentic stories' of what it takes women entrepreneurs to make it - must be heard! Today I launch a wonderful series of interviews in partnership with VentureMom.com brought to you by The Dowling Group Financial & Tax Services in Greenwich, CT. Since 1979, The Dowling Group has been careful to hire only special people who go beyond having solid credentials and strong moral character; quite simply, people you'd be comfortable talking to about your goals, concerns, and dreams. That's exactly what I felt when I met Wim Luddington, Managing Partner & Head of Business Development at The Dowling Group who joins me in the studio today along with Holly Hurd, Founder of VentureMom.com. Holly's always been at the forefront of entrepreneurship. When she was only twenty-five, she was featured in Futures Magazine, USA Today and in Fortune‘s People to Watch column for her exceptional work managing her own fund on Wall Street. She has put her exciting life experiences to excellent use by creating VentureMom.com, a resource and showcase for business ventures created by women.
'Women and Finances' have historically been a challenging topic to get attention for - but people love stories and love having fun. So I'm gonna make it fun and we're gonna tell some good stories of women entrepreneurs 'hits' and 'misses' that others can learn from. Each Tuesday for the next few weeks you'll meet a new VentureMom.com star. If you miss the show the podcasts of the segments will be on DebbieNigro.com, VentureMom.com, and TheDowlingGroup.com. Lets Roll!

Do you have any Memorabilia? A ticket stub of a play you went to? A poster from a concert you loved? A Sports Trophy? Tap Dancing Shoes from when you danced at the NY Worlds' Fair when you were 8? Oh Wait that's me! LOL ...and I just came across those shoes (what's with the laces?) and my red patent leather dancing school case and the TuTu that was then apparently considered a FourFour! Finding this memorabilia recently took me back clearly to that fateful day when I performed a duet on stage at the NY Worlds Fair with the only other little chubby girl in the dancing school so as not to ruin the entire skinny girl dancing line? I'm thinking that was probably politically incorrect. How 'bout you? Ha! I can still dance that dance for you! Today's show is all about the memories that memorabilia sparks and the lessons we can learn from others memorabilia left behind to us. Tune in 10-11am EST The Debbie Nigro Show on 1490 WGCH
Memorabilia: things that stir recollection or are valued or collected for their association with a particular field or interest.

Could one man's memorabilia left behind help us better understand our country's current tumultuous conditions?
David Greene, teacher of teachers, author, and photographer, found the memorabilia his late father-in-law Harry Greissman, an ad man, left behind in the basement, and decided to tell his story. The story is...However bad things might seem in the world today, they are really rather ordinary historically, says David. This book, "He Could Make Words Sing", was written in order to help Americans better understand today’s tumultuous conditions by comparing them to the far more tumultuous events of the 20th Century through the life of one ordinary man, Harry Greissman. Tune in and meet David Greene at 10:20am EST today. It should give you hope that there is hope for all of us.

Happy Margarita Day! What a fabulous distraction from real life! Below is a photo of the Cadillac Margarita I drank during lunch yesterday. I never drink during lunch. But that was fun! Was hanging with Nicole Russo Steinthal whose blog I love and we shared some amazing Mexican Food at a place called Blue Moon Mexican Cafe in Bronxville, NY. Blue Moon btw has locations in Boca Raton, Fla., Englewood, NJ, Norwood, NJ, Woodcliff Lake, NJ, and Wyckoff, NJ. too. Has the Fiesta Chicken Salad , a seriously serious Guacamole and some MAGIC dressing I want to drink!

Janet Neal believes that women have the power to change this world in an instant. It's her mission to help women to release that the ideal of a Superwoman, which is all about doing, serves no one. The old paradigm and ideal of becoming a “Superwoman”, where women had to do everything, do it by themselves and do it perfectly, has done nothing but create confusion, resentment and burn-out. She says we are not human doings – we are human beings. Therefore, there is nothing that women need to “do” to become “SUPERB”. It is all about learning to “be” ourselves: innately wise, tremendously talented and supremely powerful. Her book, THE SUPERB WOMAN: It’s All About the BE, is for stressed-out women who are looking for ways to keep it together in a fast-moving world. An empowering story, the book cleverly examines ways women can gain strength, confidence and feel comfortable in their own skin.
Janet is a frequent lecturer and workshop provider for organizations such as IBM, Microsoft, Kraft Foods, and Working Mother Magazine. She is the author of Soul in Control: Reflections of a Reformed Superwoman (Balboa Press, 2012). She is a contributor to The Huffington Post and numerous business publications and hosts a web show called “Superbwoman Sundays at 7,” viewable on YouTube at www.youtube.com/thesuperbwoman.
Wellness Wednesday! "Little Barb" my longest dearest friend will leave NY for Florida next week to move in with her 99 year old Mom who now needs full time attention. Her adult brother and sister are fully backing her with support but she's the one that makes the most sense for the job. It usually is a daughter who takes the caregiving role in the final stages of life for parents. I have been there, done that, and I can tell you first hand it sucks watching your parents degenerate and pass. It's highly emotional, often financially excruciating, and exhausting. "Little Barb" had to make the quick decision to move last week after her moms 'status quo' changed quickly. Tryig to wrap her head around the loving but lonely job ahead for her - Barb a coffee freak', made me laugh when she told me she was thinking of starting a meet-up group down there called "NY area adult children who come to Fla. to take care of elderly parents and miss the Corner Deli".
Giving" Little Barb" a send off today on the show at 10:20am EST. BTW: Here's her email in case you're an adult child caregiver near The Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. area and need somebody to have a cup of coffee with. She's the best! [email protected]

Google Hopes AI Can Predict Heart Disease by Looking at Retinas

WINNERS! Congratulations To Super Bowl Champs Philadelphia Eagles and To 'Alexa' - both BIG winners of Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. According to USA TODAY's Ad Meter Amazon's Echo device, Alexa was #1! Alexa, Amazon’s virtual assistant loses her voice. Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos is reassured that replacements are at the ready. Among those who try — and spectacularly fail — to fill Alexa’s virtual vocal cords are Gordon Ramsay, Rebel Wilson, Cardi B and Sir Anthony Hopkins. Good one!
