This week I got the opportunity to connect with James, a beautiful open-hearted man who inspired me through his own Dharma journey. He is a film producer, psychologist and entrepreneur, but deep down a guy who wanted to explore the question -
Who am I?
A simple question that many of us on the “spiritual seeking path” explore, or begin to ask ourselves throughout different times of our lives.
James and I speak about the journey we have to go on to find the answers.
The film he produced called Chasing the present, allowed James to embark on a world wide journey, to explore the root cause of the modern societal epidemic of stress, anxiety, panic and emotional suffering.
In a world which is constantly demanding our attention, when we create an intention to show up fully in the presence of the moment, this is how we move beyond anxiety beyond thought. Freedom is possible.
James shares many great insights on mental health, but one that resonated most, is that many mental health imbalances are a sign that we are disconnected from our true-self.
He explores all different alternative routes from mindfulness practices, yoga, and meditation in India with Gurus, to flying to Peru to work with Shamans and plant-based medicine, as well as working with modern psychologists, he got to explored all of his edges, to find out how we can truly connect back to ourselves and nature.
James runs a plant-based cafe called @Alchemybali alongside a meditation centre both situated in Bali, that I highly recommend checking out, if you enjoyed this episode go check out the movie chasing the present, it includes one of my most favourite spiritual teachers @russelbrand sharing truth on mental health.
