Graham Zimmerman is an award-winning professional climber and outdoor film maker, sponsored by Outdoor Research, Expedition Equipment, and many others. Is is a producer and the director of development for Bedrock Film Works.
He won the 2010 New Zealand Alpinist of the year award and was a finalist for the 2014 Piolet d'Or, which is the equivalent of an Olympic Gold Medal. He has climbed all over the world including all over the U.S., Canada, Patagonia, Krygyzstan, and Pakistan, where he has established dozens of new routes on both rock, ice, and snow.
We talked to Graham about the mental and physical preparation that goes into climbing someone the highest and most dangerous places in the world as well as what it means to do very difficult things in the context of our usual safe and comfortable existence.
