Green About Media is back for 2023 and this week, we explore a new type of industry; Carbon Intelligence providers.
We hear from Cedara CEO and Global Advisor David Shaw and Eric Shih and what role Carbon Intelligence plays in shifting the global economy toward a sustainable economy. There is a marked shift across all areas of the economy and as with any revolutionary change, those that act fast and change with the tide will come out on top and those that sit on the sidelines and make excuses will suffer.
In this episode of the podcast Eric and David talk about the changing landscape and what businesses need to do in order to catch the boat.

In this episode of Green About Media we explore Digital's Carbon Footprint. Does it even have one?
The answer is yes, and it's pretty big.
But things are changing and there is actually a lot you can do in your day-to-day and in your company to make a difference.

It's been a journey.
A journey we all undertook together when my team and I headed off to Vienna for the relaunch of the much loved Digital Distillery Conference which had been on pandemic hold for a few years.
In this, the last full episode of the season, we are hearing from the very special final speaker, the inimitable Thomas Koch as he holds no bars in tearing down the facade of the weaknesses in our industry and provides key insight into how he helped to deliver the most successful marketing campaign in recent German history.

The idea of Climate Change is certainly nothing new to us in 2022. We know the impact it has on us and are now even starting to see the evidence in our day-to-day lives. But what impact can we have on it?
In this episode of Green About Media, we explore how we got to this point and how it's different from the other cycles of global warming that the planet has experienced. We also explore the different scopes that an organisation, or even an individual can use to measure their carbon emissions in order to better understand where changes can be implemented to create real change.
And we leave you with a question and invite you to record your answer and email it to us:

Markets, where there are powerful monopolies capable of pushing out the competition and generally setting their own rules, are long known to hamper innovation and restrict consumer freedom.
That's why there are strict regulations in place in the banking, energy, and telecommunications sectors.
So why do the big players in the digital space seen to have free reign?
Today on the Digital Distillery we are looking at something called The Digital Markets act which has just been passed in Europe, and aims to finally curb the gatekeepers of the digital space.

As sustainability and all its subsidiary terms and definitions become increasingly thrown around in media and politics, it's not a surprise that they all begin to blur together for the average person.
This is problematic. That's why we are more likely to pass off these topics as 'too confusing' or 'I can't keep track anymore' and when we do this, not only do we lose scope of what we can do and which companies we should or shouldn't support, but it also means that organisations that aren't doing their part, are more likely to get away with it by simply throwing these words around.
In this episode of Green About Media, we will introduce you to Corporate Sustainable Development expert Ara Almada as she explains the difference between some of these key terms and why it matters.

Since its popularisation in the family home, Television has been somewhat of a household idol.
Today we look at the evolution of TV to its current connected state, discussing the importance and impact of CTV in the advertising landscape and how it affects our attention and engagement.
Sarah Lewis is on the Digital Distillery Stage this time as she discusses a recent study on tracking users' attention, and what that can tell us about how we engage with this new TV more differently from its traditional and modern counterparts.
We also look at this study's results, the different CTV advertising options available, and which are most effective. The answer may surprise you, it did me!

The Digital Media Industry is increasingly being held accountable for its environmental impact. Discussions around ESG, Green Media, Digital Carbon Foot-printing and the responsibility that companies have to minimise the effect of their ‘Dirty Data’ is shifting from a mild hubbub to a dull roar.
In this episode you introduce to you the new show and to the concepts of ESG, Sustainability, the Green Media Movement and the IAB's new committee aimed at tackling the digital media industry's de-carbonisation challenge.
