Now, this topic is a little bit more in-depth than what I am going to cover in this episode, full disclosure, I would need you in a room for a few a week to really give you all of the information. As I have said before many people get confused about what a brand actually is, a brand is how people speak of your business when you are not in the room, what they say, how they feel, what you are known for, what you want to be known for, how you attract the right kinds of people, how people feel about you and your business, why people invest in your products or services, why people invest in your business and you and how people remember you. As a consumer, you know it, we get sold to millions of times a year even hundreds of times a day. When I was in my monthly mastermind call the other day, we started discussing our businesses and where we were at, how we have created resilient businesses prior to and during this pandemic and how to really create a business that withstands the fluctuations of any economy. (trust me when I say, I am the baby shark when I sit at this table with great whites - You know what I mean). The discussion moved to through strong brands their businesses were not really affected by what was going on lately. This is my area of expertise so of course I chimed in but what I loved it they all agreed, that strong branding foundations are the core of a successful business.  One of the biggest people in the [virtual] room said that, to him,. If you have high quality images on your  website and social then it says to him that you are serious about your business, your customers, you back your products and services and if you have average images or less then average, to him, he reads that as you aren’t that serious, you just don’t care enough. His words not mine but truth be told, I have to agree with him.

Before you get into this episode I just want to say what you are doing and what you have is absolutely fine to get you to where you are at now. You have come such a long way from your beginning and I really want you to appreciate that, truly, be PROUD OF YOU! I am not here to tell you that you are doing it wrong, what I want to do is share ways that you can use your brand image to attract the right people and stop the scroll. During these uncertain times I am seeing a lot of pivoting in place. I love that those who I have worked with previously are seamlessly pivoting and their following is moving with them. The power of personal branding is right here. With most people moving their products or services online we are fast becoming connected via these online mediums however some people are ‘selling’ over connecting and I have been asked a lot lately about how to promote your new products or services without turning people away.

I did a podcast on beating the overwhelm on a podcast and during this episode I gave an example of not taking it personally and used the phrase, slinging mud, and I never really knew how much it would stick. I am going to share this with you so that you too can throw mud at the wall and see what sticks without the fear of judgment, need for validation, and help to beat the overwhelm of social media and content creation.

Yes, friends, we are going to get a little dirty in today's episode and help you overcome the overwhelm, stop procrastinating and let go of the fear of what others will think and say. I don’t know about you but people's opinions don’t pay my bills so I refuse to let them weigh me down. So, get comfy as we talk about a favorite strategy of mine, throwing mud.

I don’t know about you but I just loooove philosophy. I swear I am a philosophers daughter and if we get a bit woo here one in a past life. There is something about the contemplation of things, life and being that really really inspires me. I feel like I am a bit of a nerd. Nope, I'm calling it, I am a nerd. I have this A4 binder where I printed all of these articles and really as much information as I could find on all of the great philosophers, Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, Karl Marx, Immanuel Kant, Niels Charles Boer, Soren Kierkegaard, louzi and of course Albert Einstein. (Big fan of quantum physics but don’t even get me started on that).

In fact, a quote that I absolutely love from Albert Einstein is Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing this it is stupid. Let's sit with this for a moment, Everybody is a genius. Friends that is so true. You have a genius within you, you just need to find your genius zone.

Yes friend, you guessed it, in todays episode we are going to talk about how to overcome those walls, ceilings and barriers that we place upon ourselves and that others might have put there. We all know we need one but how do we develop and grow a personal brand. 

As a brand photographer there are so many ways that you can employ you if you own brand I am not a believer of having a personality or a brand for you and a brand for your business I think they just create a personal brand just step into the light and create your own brand which is you and use that for your business because you know what, if you are a business that has the opportunity to hire people or do you have different locations and you work from only one and you are hesitant in making your brand Personal, friends this is is not going to hinder your team or anyone else getting hired because you have a team that matches your brand you hire someone that reflects you, your brand your Ideology, if you’re hiring and firing you set it up you hire the right people that represent your brand the best way, the same way that you would do it yourself. STOP MAKING EXCUSES!

I don’t understand why people have this fear that 'if I get big then my personal brand will hinder me with this', kind of fear this will stop the growth, no friends no this wont. This will work quite the opposite! The power personal branding is phenomenal people see results so dang quick when they put themselves in their brand. Building a brand is a lot more than just a photo but that is the best place to start. If you struggle with social media pop a photo of yourself up and tell people who you are or why you do what you do make it personal so many people have this fear of putting themselves out there. I don’t understand why they let this hold them and their business back. If you are a real estate agent, you create a personal brand because... why would someone buy from you if they do not know you, like you and trust you . This is the quickest most effective and easiest way to build your business through developing and growing your personal brand.
