On today’s episode, as part of Self-Care September, I talk about creating, adapting and having a routine to support your self-care.
The term self-care often has a bad reputation or a response that invokes a big sigh!
What I mean by self-care is taking practical action to look after your physical, mental and social wellbeing, and doing this regularly helps us during times of stress and builds resilience.
This episode of the Diverse Minds Podcast, I talk about social media and the impact it has on our mental health and wellbeing.
I decided to talk about this topic because Sunday 5th of September was the first Digital Detox Day, a collaboration between #IAMWHOLE, an organisation co-founded by Jordan Stephens of Rizzle Kicks, beauty blogger, Zoella and the cosmetics brand Lush.
The aim of Digital Detox Day is about raising awareness around the negative impacts that social media can have on our mental health, and to enable people and help them to form healthier relationships with their devices.
Today’s episode of the Diverse Minds Podcast is all about celebrating our first birthday and 52 full episodes of the show!
In this episode, I share with you the five key things that I have learned over the 52 episodes of the podcast.
This episode of the Diverse Minds Podcast was meant to be the birthday episode of the show. However, due to the A-Level scandal in the UK and exams issues this summer, I wanted to talk about the messy myth of meritocracy.
I provide some insights on what meritocracy is, who is deserving, who deserves what and why they may or may not deserve it. In essence, why is it the messy myth of meritocracy
In today’s episode of the Diverse Minds podcast, we’re carrying on the spirit of South Asian Heritage Month and breaking stigmas and myths, particularly in relation to South Asian women.
Joining me on the show is British, South Asian author Mahsuda Snaith.
I am lucky to also call Mahsuda a good friend and colleague who helps me work out my business blocks.
On today’s episode of the Diverse Minds Podcast, I talk about the stereotyping South Asian Women in the UK tend to encounter. The single-story about arranged marriages that are portrayed about us and why it’s SO boring!
I wanted to use this episode, as part of the first South Asian heritage month to talk about this topic. Focussing on cultural awareness and why people pigeonholing us as South Asian women is not a good idea!
I provide ideas and tips on how to support and not assume and what you can do to increase your awareness.
In today’s show, I talk about:

On today’s episode, I talk about South Asian History Month, a month that’s been chosen to mark and celebrate the culture, history and lives of South Asian people in the UK.
This is the first year South Asian History Month has been celebrated officially. It runs from 18 July to 17 August 2020. It aims to raise the profile ofSouth Asian History in the UK through education, arts, culture and commemoration.
The goal is to help people better understand the diversity of present-day Britain, as well as improving levels of social cohesion between the various communities.
On today’s episode, I’m going to be talking about passion, patience and persistence. In essence to reflect on the last four months and what I have learned about myself and my business.
On today’s episode, I talk about culture and leadership.
I wanted to talk about this as I've been delivering leadership programmes for Black/ Global Majority/ Staff of Colour for several years. So, talking and thinking about culture is a key theme in these programmes.
I also think the Coronavirus pandemic has shone a light on varying different styles of “leadership” based on cultural country frameworks. In many cases hasn't worked well, or it's been a game-changer and saved thousands of lives.
In this episode, I talk about what culture is, the difference between culture and race, what you can do to reduce cultural or communication misunderstandings and more.
On today’s episode, I talk about solopreneur and small business owners' mental health.
I chose to talk about this topic because I think there are specific challenges that you face when you run your own business as a solopreneur. Or you have a small team but you're essentially a small enterprise or a micro-business.
In this episode, I talk about these challenges and what you can do to deal with them during these incredibly difficult times.
