This week, Fiona and guest host Rob from the Realm of Fire podcast take a deep dive into 'Treasure Hunt', the first AD&D adventure ever to present general rules for 0-level characters!
From the 'Treasure Hunt' bio:
''The Island of Viledel, the mighty Sea King, was sacked by a pirate army 60 years ago. It's destruction was so complete that even the location of the island was lost and forgotten. Despite rumours of immense treasures still hidden in the ruined stronghold, no one ever found the Sea King's island again
Until now. Through a cruel twist of fate, a small band of unwilling adventurers are washed ashore on a small, barren island, and discovers what remains of Viledel's settlement. But they aren't alone; marauding orcs and goblins have found the island too, and are frantically searching for the lost hoard. In this desperate treasure hunt, the real payoff may be survival.
"Treasure Hunt" is different from other AD&D adventures: The player characters begin the game at 0 level, without choosing a class, and must work their way up to 1st level. It is perfect for a group of beginning players or experienced players looking for a new and different challenge.'

This week, Fiona and guest host Rob from the Realm of Fire podcast check out the Ruins of Undermountain; an infamous über-dungeon setting for AD&D 2nd Edition campaign play.
Considered the oldest, largest, and deadliest dungeon-crawl in the Forgotten Realms, Undermountain is a multi-tiered dungeon, comprised of several inter-connected chambers and lairs located deep beneath the city of Waterdeep and its namesake mountain.

Show Notes
This week, Fiona and Hamilton start their exploration of Ravnica, a worldwide cityscape filled to the brim with adventure and intrigue. Within this vast sprawling city, 10 powerful guilds compete and vie for power and status, each faction responsible for some important aspect of everyday life.
In this episode, the guilds discussed are:
The Izzet League - A science-based guild is responsible for the world-city's civil engineering works and new magical developments.
The Orzhov Syndicate - Originally the most widespread religion of Ravnica, this guild now regulates trade and banking, among other activities such as law.
The Cult of Rakdos - Considered a necessary evil by some, this guild is composed of thrill-killers who provide the heavy labour force, catering, and entertainment of the plane.
The Selesnya Conclave - This guild promotes what is now the strongest, nature-based religion of Ravnica and its ledev guards patrol the rural areas along with being conservationists and charity workers.
The Simic Combine - provides medical assistance and performs biological research.

Show Notes
This week, Fiona and Hamilton start their exploration of Ravnica, a worldwide cityscape filled to the brim with adventure and intrigue. Within this vast sprawling city, 10 powerful guilds compete and vie for power and status, each faction responsible for some important aspect of everyday life.
In this episode, the guilds discussed are:
Azorius Senate - the police force, legislative and judicial body of Ravnican bureaucracy.
Boros Legion - a standing army that protects the Guildpact and contains the League of Wojek, the official peacekeepers of the City of Ravnica.
House Dimir - recently thought extinct, this secret organisation provides illegal but necessary services, while openly serving as couriers, investigators, reporters, and archivists.
Golgari Swarm - A swarm which manages food production and organic waste disposal.
Gruul Clans - fallen from their former glory as the keepers of Ravnica's wilds, this guild now are nothing but a loose affiliation of berserker clans who seek to wipe civilization from the plane.

This week, Fiona and guest host Rob from the Realm of Fire podcast explore the world of Al-Qadim, a 2nd edition DnD campaign setting which draws on 'One Thousand and One Nights' for inspiration.
Set in the land of Zakhara, also known as the Land of Fate, the setting is a thematic blend of the historical Muslim Caliphates, the stories of legend, and a wealth of Hollywood cinematic history.
The basic campaign setting was divided between two game products:
Al-Qadim: Arabian Adventures - a sourcebook describing character creation rules, equipment, and spells unique to the setting.
Al-Qadim: Land of Fate - a boxed set describing the land of Zakhara, with separate sourcebooks for the players and the Dungeon Master.

From the 'Al-Qadim: Arabian Adventures' bio:

This week, Fiona and guest host Rob from the Realm of Fire podcast go back in time to check out possibly the first-ever campaign setting of Dungeons and Dragons -
Originally evolved in the early 1970s as the personal setting of Dave Arneson, the co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons, Blackmoor was first used for Arneson's miniature wargames, then as an early testing ground for what would become D&D.
Blackmoor is the longest continuously played fantasy role-playing campaign in existence. It is a mysterious land of sword and sorcery mixed with relics of highly advanced technology.
