Matt Rothschild joins us for as cohost for today’s show.
President Joe Biden, in an interview with the New York Times, continues to claim that he could have won a rematch against Trump for the presidency. In the same interview, Biden admits that perhaps- perhaps– he would not have been able to serve through another four years. Come on man… it’s time to be the bridge you promised, not a wall.
President-elect Trump- who could do with a reminder that the United States only ever has ONE President at a time and it’s NOT HIM YET- continues to fight the prosecutions against him. Trump is due for sentencing in the election interference through fraudulent financial documents. Today, he seeks SCOTUS interference to delay or dismiss the case once more. In *some* good news (maybe?), Merrick Garland announced that he intends for Jack Smith’s Special Counsel report on January 6th, 2021 to reach the public.
Civic Media Sports Reporter, Mike Clemens joins us for the final segment for one more update on the Packers’ post-season prospects.

Guests: Matt Rothschild, Mike ClemensMatt Rothschild joins us for as cohost for today’s show. We begin with voting rights. Once more, Wisconsin Republicans move to put a Constitutional referenda on the next ballot to ‘make voting more secure’ through voter ID. Of course what that will really accomplish is voter suppression. The Wisconsin Legislature seeks to change our state Constitution through referendum proposed to the citizens. But why can’t citizens propose referenda in a similar manner, to be voted on through state-wide ballots? Governor Evers is proposing just that, though Legislative Republicans, lead by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos assert that the measure is DOA– dead on arrival.

Guests: Matt RothschildLieutenant Mike Cyzs, with the Richland County Sherrif's Department was on the Morning Show on January 8 to talk an upcoming K-9 Benefit event.
Today, President-elect Trump held his first press conference since the election was certified. As expected, it was a bunch of word salad. Dom covers the lowlights for us, from Panama to Hezbollah.
In other Trump-related news, Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon has temporarily blocked Jack Smith from reporting on the classified documents case. This is completely unsurprising, as she tends to rule in favor of Republicans. Also, the wheels of justice have long since slowed to a near stop when processing Trump in general over the years. With that said, the American people deserve to know the contents of these reports. Theoretically, even Trump supporters would like to know the truth.
In still more Trump-related news (get used to it, folks), Facebook’s parent company Meta plans to end its long-running fact checking program. First of all, who knew that Facebook fact checked anything? In any case, all signs point to this being a direct response to pressure from Donald Trump and Elon Musk, who seek to curtail any efforts to verify facts in favor of “free speech.”

It’s Tuesday, and that means we kick off the show with some Overtime with Maggie Daun! She and Dom kick around the latest sports news. If the Packers can’t win the big game, Maggie hopes it’ll be the Lions. After a brief discussion on music, they turn to the latest political scandal. Former WI Attorney General and conservative WI Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel is getting himself in some hot water. He claims that many of the January 6th insurrectionists were only found guilty because of where they were tried. As a lawyer, Maggie calls BS. If you don’t want to be tried in a liberal district, don’t commit crimes in one!
At the bottom of the hour, Dom continues the conversation about J6, focusing on the 11 Wisconsinites charged with crimes relating to the incident. President-elect Trump likes to talk about pardoning all of the allegedly wrongfully convicted peaceful protestors, but these particular rioters certainly weren’t peaceful.

Greater Richland Area Chamber of Commerce Board Members, Craig Woodhouse and Teri Richards, were on the Morning Show on January 7 to provide a community update.
Harvey Kaye, Professor Emeritus of Democracy and Justice Studies at UWGB, our favorite socialist and Delano Democrat, joins us for the hour.
We continue to reflect on the solemn anniversary of the January 6th, 2021 insurrection. A day when our Democracy not only stumbled, but nearly fell to a violent mob that sought to stop the peaceful transfer of presidential power. We must remember, in full detail, the horrors perpetuated by Americans against other Americans that day. The day marks a dark mirror of what America is.
Today is also the anniversary of FDR’s speech declaring four core freedoms. The speech announces four ideals meant to represent the promise of America and what we can be. Harvey is our foremost expert on FDR, and he wrote the book on this speech.

Guests: Harvey KayeToday, on January 6th, 2025, Democracy stands. Four years ago on this day, Democracy wobbled- big time. Today, Vice President Kamala Harris, who serves as President of the Senate oversaw the certification of Donald Trump’s electoral victory. The process was quick, smooth, and uneventful. As it should be. We recall how it was not so four years ago when Mike Pence was charged with overseeing Joe Biden’s presidential certification. Though Pence set his mind to doing just that, Trump’s supporters swarmed the Capitol chanting for the Vice President of the time to be hanged.
Too many supporters of the current President-elect now talk of the insurrection on Jan 6th, 2021 as a peaceful protest. A great “meh”ification if you will. So we take time to remember what really happened that day. We take time to read and bear witness to the horrors of that day with the testimony of Aquilino Gonel, on what he experienced that day as a Capitol Police sergeant.
