The Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Celtics the other day in OT in one of the most entertaining games of this early season. So far, the Cavs have a top 10 Offensive and Defensive Rating, and look like one of the most formidable teams in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics slide to 4-3, but their losses have been close against good teams, so there is not much worry yet. There is some worry over in Golden State, where the Warriors lose 3 of their last 4 to drop to 3-6. Their defense has been awful, and it seems unlikely that Wiseman is a productive force this year. We got the news today that after starting 2-5, The Brooklyn Nets have decided to fire Head Coach Steve Nash, and are reportedly replacing him with suspended Celtics HC Ime Udoka, just 2 months after his scandal in Boston. It will be interesting to see how Udoka changes the direction of this struggling Nets team, and how much bad publicity will be following the Nets over the rest of the season. Kyrie Irving has already been in the news enough recently for Anti-semitism, it will be interesting to see how things progress with Udoka as HC.

We are about a week into the regular season this year, and we have seen some very unexpected trends pop up across the league. There's teams like the Jazz and Spurs that are much better than advertised to start the season, while teams like the Nets and Lakers have only won 1 game so far. Donovan Mitchell looks like he could be the best SG in the NBA, and could potentially be the best player on a championship team. The regular season has finally started again in the NBA, with two major games being played last night. The Celtics beat the 76ers 126-117 and the Warriors beat the Lakers 123-109 in games that told us a lot about what to expect from each team moving forward. Victor Wembanyama and Scoot Henderson battled each other in 2 games over the weekend, with Wemby putting up over 30+ pts and 10+ rebounds in each showing. These are certainly going to be the top 2 picks of next year's draft, and it's awesome to see them up against each other. We have some disagreements over whether or not Wembanyama's going to be able to stay healthy for a career, but as a ceiling he could be one of the top 30 best players of all time. There is some turmoil in Golden State as well. Video leaked of Draymond Green sucker punching Jordan Poole after a disagreement during a preseason practice. The way that Draymond and The Warriors as an organization have handled it has been interesting, and it will be something to pay attention to how Jordan Poole acts going forward. Both players want a large contract extension from the team and only one is likely to actually receive one. Enjoy!
