The NBA Season begins tonight! The reigning champion Bucks take on the Kyrie-less Nets, while the New look Lakers face off against Golden State. Before we cover those games, we have to talk about NBA drama. Ben Simmons has returned to the Sixers, but has recently been suspended from the game opener. Ben Simmons has been throwing in the towel ever since showing back up, and so far his antics have cost him $1.4 million in fines. Also, The Phoenix Suns refuse to offer a max contract to Deandre Ayton, making him a free agent in next year's pool. There are more extensions to cover, and plenty of basketball soon to watch. This has been a very strange offseason in terms of news. With the decisions made by different Arenas across the country to not allow unvaccinated athletes to play in their stadium, Kyrie Irving has found himself in yet another bit of drama. As it stands now, Kyrie will be paid $19 million for this season, half his contract. He will not be allowed to practice with the team, or play in home or road games. If Kyrie decides to get the vaccine, he will be eligible for all $38 million and will be able to play all games. It is up to Kai to decide what to do now. Ben Simmons and his agent, Rich Paul, have made it clear all year that Ben Simmons does not want to play in Philly. Since The 6ers organization has fined Simmons $380,000 for missing training camp, the reality of the holdout is starting to hit Ben Simmons. So much so that he has actually reported back to work. The NBA Regular Season will be back very soon, and with that comes a chance for a new season of sports betting. Neither of us are big-time sports betters, but we know enough about basketball to help. In this episode, we cover the projected win totals for most teams in the NBA, and whether or not we should take the over or under for their win totals. The Brooklyn Nets sit at 55.5 wins, which to us seems incredibly low. Both of us would bet the over on Brooklyn, and the under on San Antonio. The Spurs will likely have the worst roster in the league next season and will struggle immensely to get to 28.5 wins. Some are hard to touch, like the Pacers, Bulls, and Knicks all at 42.5 wins. With our Eastern Conference Breakdown video out yesterday, we felt like it would be a good idea to make the video about the West next. In this episode, we rank our picks for seeds 1-15 in the Western Conference, and what about each team makes us think they will be where we predict. At the top of the conference, The Los Angeles Lakers seem to be by far the best team. After that, the conference is a bit more wide open. The return of Klay Thompson to the Warriors could put Golden State as high as 2, and the return of Jamal Murray may help give the Nuggets an end-of-the-year boost. Today we list our predictions for seeds 1-15 in the Eastern Conference and back up why each team should be where they are. This is a year full of parity, and the strength of this year's Eastern Conference seems to be as good as it has been in a long time. This makes this year's 5-10 seed much harder to predict than in years prior. The Nets and Bucks seem to be the two Giants of The East, but the rest of the seeding is up for grabs. The 2021 NBA Draft Class was announced last night, with some major surprise picks and some great decision-making from a couple of organizations. In this episode, we go through the first round of the draft and give our thoughts about each pick, and about what players we would've imagined being taken in those spots. Players like Josh Giddey and Josh Primo rose far higher than expected on draft night, and it remains to be seen how worthwhile those picks will be. Players like Alperen Sengun, taken 16th by the Rockets, immediately look like steals. This class looks to be one of the strongest in years, with huge potential out of the top 5 picks. Enjoy!
