About the Book

A searing anti-colonial analysis rooted in frontline experience, Klee Benally (Diné) unrelentingly agitates against colonial politics in pursuit of Indigenous autonomy and the total liberation of Nahasdzáán (Mother Earth).

Who is Klee Benally?

Klee Benally is a Diné (Navajo) musician, traditional dancer, artist, filmmaker, and Indigenous anarchist based in Flagstaff, Arizona. Originally from Black Mesa, he has spent his life on the frontlines defending Indigenous sacred lands. He provides strategic planning and direct action training with Indigenous Action Media and has helped establish Táala Hooghan Infoshop, Protect the Peaks, and Outta Your Backpack Media. Klee has produced numerous documentaries, facilitated Indigenous justice campaigns, and performed with the Native American Music Award-winning rock group Blackfire and The Jones Benally Family.

But history shows us something different: from slavery to Jim Crow to mass incarceration, the U.S. electoral system has consistently failed to deliver justice or freedom for the oppressed.
