Today is a special episode – no interview or guest – because I am sharing a deeply personal story about my body. Since the age of fifteen, I’ve had a horrible relationship with myself and what I looked like, and after being labeled a “food addict”, I started on the dark path of yo-yo dieting and supposed quick fixes. For almost all my life, I have been measuring food, counting calories, working out obsessively, and sometimes even starving myself in an attempt to hit that perfect size. 

I have tried every diet and fad in the book, and when I came across an ad for CoolSculpting a few years ago, I couldn’t resist going for a consultation to see if this procedure would bring me one step closer to that goal in had in mind for so long. But what happened after the procedure is what really shook my world and pushed me further down the edge of self-hatred. This story has a happy ending though, so tune in to hear how I eventually forgave myself and fell in love with my body again.

We talk about the motivation behind Movéo Fit Co., how Becky overcame incredible challenges after breaking her back, and what the transition was like going from an FBI officer to a small business owner.

Today, we are joined by Simply Manders. Amanda started as a CrossFit athlete and quickly fell in love with nutrition. She segued into nutrition coaching and currently works at Black Iron Nutrition. Amanda has a significant social media following and believes in creating accessible health-related content. In this episode, we learn about the work Amanda has done to cultivate a beautiful relationship with herself. This profound self-love has had cascading effects in all aspects of her life and led her to find her current boyfriend, Austin. Our guest today is Bonnie Schroeder. Bonnie’s fitness journey began at age twelve when she started running track and field. She continued her passion through high school and college but soon started to feel a void. So, she switched gears to bodybuilding and won the very first powerlifting heat she entered! Bonnie currently holds all USAPL records in her weight class in the state of Iowa. In 2017, she placed fifth at the USAPL Nationals and in 2018 she placed third at the SPD Pro American heat at The Arnold. Bonnie currently works as an online coach and trainer for competitive powerlifters, conducts seminars across the US and Canada, and plans on competing again in 2020.

She hosts a pre-race show and covers a bunch of different series of races. This is the job that Kaitlyn has always wanted to do since she was young and she admits that she is really living out her dream, something that she is grateful for even when things are challenging. We discuss her journey in this career, her wonderful and surprising family life and how she balances her personal ambitions with being a mother.
