  • Ep. 42 Somatic Coaching Packages: How I Actually Work With Women 1:1 (And What Each Offer Includes)

    Send us Fan Mail

If you've ever wondered what working with a somatic coach actually looks like — or what somatic coaching packages typically include — this episode breaks it down completely. I walk you through my full offer suite: the free Pattern Discovery Call, the Intuitive Circle membership, 1:1 SEER Sessions, and VIP Days, so you know exactly where you land.

I start by describing the woman I built this whole episode for — because if you're an entrepreneur or a mom who's done real inner work but still feels stuck, still feels like something hasn't clicked into place, this is for you. Maybe you're in perimenopause. Maybe your worth has always been tied to your productivity. Maybe you're exhausted by the gap between what you've healed on paper and what still runs the show underneath. If that's you, I want you to hear this before you decide which door to walk through.

I also share a real story from a Pattern Discovery Call I did this week — a woman new to entrepreneurship, working through corporate-rooted imposter syndrome in real time — because I want you to hear what these calls actually sound like, not just what they promise.

Then I walk through all three somatic coaching packages in detail:

    • Intuitive Circle — $33/month, twice-monthly live virtual sessions, for staying in ongoing attunement with your body instead of waiting for a full breakdown to force the issue
    • 1:1 SEER Sessions — $222/session, for going all the way into a root pattern using the full SEER Method
    • VIP Days — $888, capped at two per month, a full day combining a SEER session, lunch, and nature-based integration — built specifically as the opposite of an unattuned group retreat space

Wherever you land, the Pattern Discovery Call is still the place to start. You don't have to know which offer is right before you reach out — that's my job, not yours.

If this episode helped you see where you fit, go book your free Pattern Discovery Call at lesleyturner.ca, and if episode 41 on the SEER Method is still on your list, start there first — it explains the method these offers are actually built on.

  • Ep. 41 Somatic, Energetic, Emotional Release | Inside My SEER Method (And The Bedtime Story Behind It's Name)

    Send us Fan Mail

If you've been circling the same pattern for months — the same argument, the same overwhelm, the same story — without anything actually shifting, this episode is for you.

I'm walking you through The SEER Method - somatic, energetic, & emotional release — what it actually looks like, step by step, when someone's sitting across from me. This isn't theory. It's the exact framework I use in every single session.

I came up with this name lying in my son's bedroom while he fell asleep, thinking about what I actually loved doing with my clients — long before I dropped my naturopathic license. I tried "BEER" first (body, energy, emotion release — yeah, not that). Then it clicked: Somatic, Energetic, and Emotional Release. SEER. Because an intuitive is basically a seer. I registered it as a trademark this spring, and in this episode I'm finally breaking down how it works.

    You'll hear:

    • The neuroscience behind why your body knows things before your conscious mind does (Damasio's somatic marker hypothesis, and what interoception actually means)
    • What an intuitive read looks like before a session even starts
    • How I use the SEER Method to find where a story is being held in the body — and what happens when we sit with it instead of pushing it away
    • The difference between what happens on the table in person versus in a virtual session
    • Why "you're allowed to be here" is doing more work than it sounds like

This is body-based healing, not a top-down, think-your-way-out approach. If you've never asked your body what it's holding, I walk you through how to try that yourself, right now, in this episode.

If you've been in therapy, coaching, or any kind of top-down process and nothing's actually shifted, this bottom-up approach to old emotions in the body might be the missing piece. Nervous system release work isn't about managing symptoms — it's about listening to what's actually underneath them.

If this episode explains a piece of your own pattern, I have a free Pattern Discovery Call where we find what's actually been running the show and I give you one tangible next step. Book yours at lesleyturner.ca.

    Stop circling. Start shifting.

  • Ep. 40 Is Somatic Healing Actually Working? Four Real-Life Stories of Emotional Pattern Work

    Send us Fan Mail

I've spent years watching what happens the moment a nervous system finally stops bracing and lets somatic healing actually do its job. This episode isn't a framework — it's proof. Real transformations from real women I've had the honor of working with. No theory, no fluff, just what emotional pattern work actually looks like when it's working.

These aren't polished before-and-afters. They're the real, messy, specific shifts that happen when someone finally lets their body do what it was always trying to do: heal. You'll hear about a woman who learned to hold grief and relief in the same hand after caring for a dying parent. A woman whose nervous system had only ever known one setting — hustle — and what it took for her body to finally learn that rest wasn't a risk. A woman living through a loss that doesn't have a clean end point, and what it looked like for her to walk with that grief instead of being flattened by it. And a woman who spent years overriding her own gut, and the somatic healing work that helped her trust her body again.

If you've ever wondered whether nervous system regulation and somatic therapy actually create lasting change, or if it's just another wellness buzzword — this episode is your answer. This is what emotional pattern work looks like from the inside, in the words and stories of the women who've lived it.

Every story here has been shared with permission, with identifying details changed or combined to protect the women who trusted me with them.

If you heard even one of these stories and thought, okay, that's a little too accurate — the Intuitive Circle is where we actually do something about it. Twice a month, live, body-based, real and specific to what's actually running for you. Doors are open now at lesleyturner.ca/theintuitivecircle.

  • Ep. 39 Five Things Midlife Women Mistake For Healing (But Aren't)

    Send us Fan Mail

Why am I still stuck, even after years of doing "the work"? If you've read the books, journaled about the same anxiety at midnight more times than you can count, and had the breakthrough on a walk or mid-session with a practitioner — and you're still landing in the exact same place — this episode is for you.

In this episode of The Emotional Truth, I walk through the five most common mistakes I see keeping smart, self-aware women stuck despite doing everything right. This isn't about self-sabotage in the way it usually gets talked about, and it isn't about willpower. It's about which strategies actually reach the root of what's running underneath, versus which ones just make you feel like you're making progress while the same thing keeps repeating.

    I break down:

    • Why trying to think your way out of it keeps you circling instead of shifting — and why insight is not the same thing as integration
    • Why waiting for a crisis before you act keeps you working from behind instead of ahead
    • Why techniques like breathwork and bodywork give you real relief but not full resolution, and what nervous system regulation actually requires beyond a single technique
    • Why rushing to assign a cause or meaning to what you're feeling, before it's even finished moving through you, can cut the actual processing short
    • Why hopping from program to program without ever sitting with yourself first drowns out your own inner knowing

If you've been asking yourself why am I still stuck after years of self-help, therapy, or coaching, this episode shows you exactly where the disconnect is happening. It's not a personal failing. It's a mismatch between the tool you were using and the problem you were trying to solve — and once you can see that clearly, it changes what you reach for next.

This episode builds directly on two recent ones — episode 37, "Why Am I Still Triggered After Years of Therapy," and episode 38, "Why Doesn't Self-Awareness Fix Anything." If this one lands, go back and listen to those next; they dig even deeper into why knowing isn't the same as shifting.

If this resonated, the Intuitive Circle is where we do this work live, twice a month, in real time, body-based and specific to what's actually running for you. Doors are open right now — grab your spot at lesleyturner.ca/theintuitivecircle.

  • Ep. 38 Why Doesn't Self-Awareness Fix Anything? Somatic Healing for Women

    Send us Fan Mail

I used to think if I could just explain a pattern clearly enough — to myself, to a therapist, to a friend at brunch — it would eventually stop running me. That's why self-awareness isn't enough on its own, and it took a client of mine catching herself mid-explanation, twice, before I could actually show her what was missing instead of just telling her.

In this episode I walk you through a moment with a client who could name her pattern faster than I could — going quiet, agreeing when she meant no, laughing off a boundary before she'd even finished thinking it — and still couldn't stop doing it. I show you exactly where I stopped her, what I asked her to do instead of explain, and why knowing and shifting live in two completely different places in the body.

Then I take you through the same two-minute somatic practice, live, so you can do it with me — including the layer most people skip straight past, and the three things that get in the way almost every single time.

This episode also walks through an ordinary Tuesday morning — coffee percolating, a headache at the base of your skull, the old "I'm not enough" spiral starting up — because this work isn't for a quiet, uninterrupted hour. It's for right there, mid-spiral, jaw tight, kid yelling from the couch.

If you haven't listened to the previous episode Ep 37. "Knowing Isn't Healing," start there — this episode builds directly on the belief-versus-pattern distinction I introduce in that one.

This is exactly the kind of work we do together, live, every session, in the Intuitive Circle — not more information, a practiced way back into your body, with me right there catching what you'd miss on your own. Doors are open now — join us at lesleyturner.ca/theintuitivecircle.

  • Ep. 37 Why Am I Still Triggered After Years Of Therapy? (Knowing Isn't Healing)

    Send us Fan Mail

Why am I still triggered after years of therapy? I used to think if I could just explain a pattern clearly enough, it would finally stop running me. Turns out understanding something and being free of it are two completely different things — and that gap is exactly what I'm getting into in this episode.

I had a client on the table recently — body work, low-key session — when a memory dropped in that wasn't mine to know. I said it out loud before I even thought about it: "Tell me about the time you lost a teddy bear." She went still. This woman had done years of therapy. EMDR, inner child work, all of it. She could recite her own patterns better than most people could. And none of that knowing was what moved her that day.

That's the real question behind why am I still triggered after therapy, even when you've done real work, even when you can explain exactly why you react the way you do. Processing clears what's live from one moment. A belief is built from a hundred moments like it, repeated, until your body stopped needing new evidence and started running on the conclusion instead. You can process a single conversation completely and it still won't touch the belief underneath it, because that belief was never really about that one conversation.

In this episode I walk through what actually happened in that session — where the belief started, where it's still showing up decades later, and why "just talk it out" was never going to be enough. If you caught the toxic interaction episode, this one goes one layer past it: it's not just that talking and processing are different things, it's that processing a moment and dismantling the belief it confirmed are different things too.

I also get into why healing was never a one-time unlock, why it usually takes more than one modality working together, and why staying in the deep work forever isn't actually the goal. You were never meant to live in the digging. At some point the point of all of this is to go live your actual life.

If this is the episode that makes you go, wait, is she talking about me — that's not a coincidence. That's your body telling you something's ready to move. This episode is the first in a six-part series leading into the Intuitive Circle, my twice-monthly live membership where we do exactly this kind of work together, in real time, in the body. Doors are open right now at lesleyturner.ca/theintuitivecircle.

  • Ep. 36 How To Get Over A Toxic Interaction (When Talking It Out Isn't Enough)

    Send us Fan Mail

If you've been searching for how to get over a toxic interaction that keeps replaying in your head no matter how many times you've talked it out, this episode is for you. I see this constantly with clients — they've processed something out loud with a trusted friend, sometimes more than once, and it should feel done. And yet weeks later, it's still there, still living in the body.

In this episode, I break down why getting over a toxic interaction takes more than talking about it. Your nervous system doesn't decide something is finished based on whether you've narrated it — it decides based on whether the activation in your body got to complete. This is somatic healing at its core: I bring in Peter Levine's work on nervous system regulation to explain the mechanism — animals discharge survival energy physically after a threat and move on fully, while humans are taught to stay calm and hold it together, which leaves that energy stuck in the body instead of released.

I also walk through the four things a toxic interaction usually touches — abandonment, not being enough, being unseen, and safety through appeasement — and how to spot the real clue: when an emotional trigger feels bigger than the moment that caused it. That gap is where the real work is.

Knowing how to get over a toxic interaction isn't about talking yourself out of ever getting triggered again. I share a personal story about a friendship that changed permanently after one interaction I didn't handle well, and how self-compassion — not resolution — is what actually helps.

If a toxic interaction is on repeat in your head right now, I have a free resource: "A Toxic Interaction in 15 Minutes" is in the shop, built specifically to interrupt the spinning and bring your nervous system back to neutral. If something deeper is still there after that — anger, shame, loneliness, betrayal — the Trigger Toolkit is the next step.

And if you're ready to go deeper than any single interaction — into what's actually running underneath all of them — that's the work we do together in the Intuitive Circle. Doors are open now at lesleyturner.ca/theintuitivecircle.

  • Ep. 35 The Good Girl Can't Survive Past 40 | Four Signs The Emotional Patterns are Healing

    Send us Fan Mail

There are four signs the good girl is dying, and if you've only noticed the loudest one, rage, there are three more underneath it worth knowing about. I see this constantly in my client sessions: a woman who has spent decades being agreeable, easy, and no trouble at all suddenly finds herself reacting to things that never used to bother her — and rage is just the first of four signs the good girl is dying.

In this episode of The Emotional Truth, I walk through the pendulum framework I use with clients: on one end is the good girl, functioning, naive about the cost of always being easy. Something catalyzes, and the pendulum swings hard toward rage — the first sign. That rage isn't a character flaw. It's the correction for years, sometimes decades, of proportion only ever going one direction.

The second sign is in the body — it stops cooperating with the performance, and things that used to look and feel a certain way just don't anymore. The third sign is in your focus and attention, as bandwidth that used to go entirely toward everyone else finally starts redirecting inward. And the fourth sign is the hardest one: an identity crisis, a real question of who you are without the role you've played for so long.

This episode also covers three of the most common origins behind good girl syndrome and people-pleasing: conditional love, parentification (if this one is yours, go listen to episode 25, What We Get Wrong About the Eldest Daughter, right after this), and punishment for having needs. I also talk about perimenopause as a real catalyst in this shift, along with a midlife divorce statistic that names what so many women are quietly renegotiating in their relationships right now.

If you've noticed even one of these four signs the good girl is dying, this episode will walk you through exactly where you are, and what's actually on the other side of it — not less feeling, but more ease, more confidence, and relationships built on who you actually are now.

I close the episode with an actual ritual: a funeral, or a small token of gratitude, for the good girl who got you this far. She did her job. She doesn't have to keep doing it.

If this episode is landing, I've got 1:1 sessions open right now where we can work through exactly what's true for you underneath the role you've been playing. Details at lesleyturner.ca.

  • Ep. 34 I'm Exhausted from Burnout | The Cycle of Capability for Midlife Women

    Send us Fan Mail

Have you ever felt exhausted in a way that a good night's sleep or a weekend off just doesn't touch? That's the kind of burnout I'm talking about in this episode — not the kind rest fixes, the kind that shows up even after you've done everything right.

I'm sharing a real two weeks from my own life — my husband off work, both of us somehow getting busier instead of slowing down — and the moment it finally hit me that something had to give. If you've heard my earlier episode responding to Jenna Kutcher's essay on the hustle pattern, this one picks up right where that left off. Knowing the pattern exists didn't stop me from ending up burnt out anyway.

In this episode, I name something I don't think gets said enough about burnout: the more capable you are, the less anyone actually checks on you. From the outside it looks handled, so people stop offering help. Instead they call you superwoman — and that praise quietly substitutes for real support. Underneath that is an even harder layer: guilt about ease. Even when help is available, there's an unspoken rule that you have to earn the right to rest through suffering, not simply by wanting it. I walk through exactly how that shows up, and why it keeps so many women waiting for collapse before they'll actually ask for anything.

I also break down the real physiology behind chronic stress — the actual cascade from your hypothalamus to your pituitary to your adrenal glands, why the body's natural "stand down" signal stops working under constant pressure, and the part most people miss entirely: your nervous system treats isolation itself as a threat, which means real connection isn't just nice to have, it's one of the only things that can actually turn the stress response off.

What you'll learn about burnout in this episode:

    • Why capability can isolate you, and how "superwoman" becomes a substitute for real help
    • The guilt mechanism that makes rest feel like something you have to earn through suffering
    • The actual HPA axis cascade — what your hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal glands are doing, and why the shut-off switch stops working
    • Why isolation itself keeps your body in a stress response, and why being seen matters biologically, not just emotionally
    • A simple way to check your actual capacity — and why saying the number out loud matters more than just noticing it

This is exactly the kind of thing we work through inside my monthly membership, the Intuitive Circle — not adding more self-care to an already full plate, but practicing letting yourself be seen needing something, until it stops feeling like proof you've failed. The Circle's on a summer pause right now, but the waitlist is open at lesleyturner.ca/theintuitivecircle for first access when it reopens in September.

  • Ep. 33 One Glass of Whiskey Taught Me This About Somatic Healing and Intuition

    Send us Fan Mail

Ever notice how one drink can leave you feeling completely disconnected from yourself the next day — flat, insecure, or unable to name why? That's emotional numbing, and I learned firsthand that it's not just a mood. It's your nervous system's built-in "quiet down" switch getting flipped without your permission.

In this episode, I'm sharing two personal stories — one with a glass of whiskey and my dad, one with a glass of wine on my anniversary trip — that revealed something I didn't expect: alcohol didn't just relax me. It cut me off from my intuition, the exact somatic read I rely on with clients, with my son, and with myself.

I break down the biology behind it — what GABA actually does in the brain, why cortisol spikes the next morning and mimics anxiety, and why serotonin drops can shorten your fuse for a full day after just one drink. But I also go further than the biology, naming something I've never said out loud on this podcast before: the felt sense of disconnection from my own intuition when a substance interfered with my signal.

This is what emotional numbing actually looks like from the inside — not a dramatic blackout, but a turning-down of something I didn't even know was on. And alcohol is just the most obvious mute button. Scrolling, overworking, overthinking, staying too busy — they all do the same thing: let whatever's running underneath keep running without you ever having to feel it.

If you're a midlife woman who's done everything right and still feels stuck, disconnected, or unsure why your emotional regulation seems to disappear overnight after something as small as one glass of wine, this episode names what's actually happening in your body — and why I think noticing it is the whole practice.

What you'll learn about emotional numbing in this episode:

    1. Why one drink shut off my intuition and somatic awareness for 24 hours

    2. The real biology behind alcohol, GABA, cortisol, and serotonin — and what it does to nervous system regulation

    3. Why I'm noticing "mommy wine culture" losing its grip on more women in my circles every month

    4. How I recognize my own mute buttons — the everyday ways I numb out beyond alcohol entirely

    5. Why I think noticing what goes quiet is more powerful than forcing a tidy answer

This is exactly the kind of pattern work I do with women inside my Intuitive Circle — not "should you drink or not," but what happens in your body when something interferes with your signal, and what's actually running underneath. The Circle is on a summer pause right now, and I'll be reopening doors in September. Get on the waitlist at lesleyturner.ca/theintuitivecircle for first access.
