  • Episode 67 - Spaghetti with String Cheese

It's another quick Epoch this week, as we swap Joe for Chris (ComradeGupGup), and Scott takes over the news. We talk about the Iron Dome and the disappointment of AOC and the squad, Kim Janey's endorsement of Michelle Wu, local infrastructure of the T and its many derailments, national infrastructure vs. the climate, climate refugees, and R. Kelly's conviction. Jesse brings us some positive communist news from Austria. We contrast National DSA with Boston's chapter. Chava brings us an update on fat bear week. In the end, we accidently create a new character: Marxist Trump. Remember to enjoy and share your Epoch, thank you!

  • Episode 65 - Wu Train

This week's Epoch is chock full of drama! Note: this was recorded Tuesday evening, so we offer some preliminary and very unofficial updates on the Boston Mayoral Primary election throughout the episode even though by the time you listen to this you already know what happened! But anyways, we discuss the census confirming what we already knew: giving people money is good, we dive into the psychosis in America on the 20th anniversary of 9/11, and then get a little bitchy about AOC's dress and the Met Gala in general. Chava brings us another story about Bears, and we imagine Liz Warren as Marge Simpson in the outro. It's a short one this week. Enjoy and share!

Everyone had shit to do, so here is your late Epoch. For the first half, we mostly talk about the Texas abortion ban and new voting restrictions, as well as follow up on Afghanistan, and Obama's legacy in the Middle East. We discuss the disastrous end to federal unemployment insurance, and try to bring some levity with some more positive news. The second half mostly consists of a lengthy conversation about the Boston mayoral race. As always, thanks for listening, and please share with your comrades. Thank you.

About The Epoch of Incredulity

From the publisher's feed

Here in the Boston Commune, we interpret the tumultuous churn of modernity through a Marxist lens. Episodes alternate between analyses of current events -- from the hyperlocal to the international -- and narrations of theoretical texts by communists and anti-imperialists the world over. This project was birthed in a mental health working group during the pandemic and continues in true DIY fashion, without any advertisements or monetization (save for a few generous patrons). Hard to believe, we know; for it is, after all, the Epoch of Incredulity.
