  • Mega Edition: Johanna Sjoberg's Deposition In The Maxwell/Virginia Roberts Suit (Part 7-10) (5/24/26)
In her deposition in the defamation lawsuit filed by Virginia Giuffre against Ghislaine Maxwell, Johanna Sjoberg described being recruited to work for Jeffrey Epstein under the impression that it was a legitimate job opportunity. According to her testimony, she was initially hired to help with office work but was soon asked to give massages to Epstein—something she testified quickly evolved into inappropriate and unwanted conduct. Sjoberg stated that Ghislaine Maxwell played a central role in managing the household and was often present during these encounters, contributing to the atmosphere of control and pressure. Her deposition supported claims made by Giuffre and other women who alleged they were misled into situations where they were exploited.

Sjoberg also testified about interactions with well-known individuals while in Epstein’s company, including an allegation involving Prince Andrew, which she said took place at Epstein’s residence. She described an incident in which Maxwell, Epstein, and others were present during a moment she considered inappropriate and unsettling. While the full extent of those interactions remains the subject of legal scrutiny and public interest, Sjoberg’s deposition contributed to the broader pattern of allegations suggesting a tightly controlled environment where young women were manipulated under false pretenses. Her account was one of several that added weight to the claims being investigated in both civil and criminal proceedings surrounding Epstein and Maxwell.

  • House Bill 5723: Can Illinois Launch a State-Level Epstein Investigation?
Illinois lawmakers have introduced House Bill 5723, dubbed the Illinois Epstein Files Investigation Act, to create a bipartisan state commission with subpoena power tasked with investigating any crimes tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking network that involve Illinois — including offenses that happened in the state, targeted Illinois residents, or involved local institutions. Supporters, led by Rep. Abdelnasser Rashid and survivor advocates, argue that federal efforts have left unanswered questions and that Illinois has the authority to pursue accountability under state law. The proposed commission would be 10 members, appointed by the governor with state Senate approval, required to hold public meetings, issue periodic reports over five years, and refer potential criminal matters to the Illinois attorney general’s office or a statewide grand jury for prosecution.

Supporters say the bill would give the state “real teeth” — investigatory powers, subpoena authority, and the ability to pursue prosecutions where state law may have been violated — and help ensure survivors’ experiences are examined with trauma-informed care. While advocates emphasize the importance of delving into records and holding accountable anyone who broke Illinois law, Republican lawmakers like House Minority Leader Tony McCombie acknowledged the gravity of Epstein’s crimes but questioned whether a state commission can effectively parallel federal criminal probes. Procedural hurdles loom, as the bill was filed after a legislative deadline and may not advance until later sessions.

  • DOJ Memos Reveal Prosecutors Targeted Epstein Survivors Instead of the Predator
Newly released Justice Department memos from the early federal investigation into Jeffrey Epstein show that prosecutors were preoccupied with how Epstein’s lawyers might attack the credibility of the girls who accused him of abuse. The memos described concerns that defense attorneys would point to past arrests, drug use, theft allegations, and inconsistencies in early statements to undermine witnesses at trial. Prosecutors also noted that some of the girls had been pressured into recruiting other underage victims for Epstein, something they believed the defense would exploit to portray them as unreliable. The memos further suggested that Epstein’s legal team could examine social media activity and other aspects of the victims’ personal lives in an attempt to discredit their testimony before a jury.

Instead of preparing to counter those predictable defense tactics, federal prosecutors used them as justification to retreat from pursuing a full federal prosecution. The memos reveal a Justice Department that appeared more concerned about how Epstein’s lawyers might embarrass vulnerable teenage victims in court than about holding a wealthy serial abuser accountable. That mindset helped lead directly to the notorious 2008 non-prosecution agreement, which allowed Epstein to avoid federal charges entirely despite extensive evidence gathered by investigators and a large number of victims who had come forward. Rather than testing the strength of their case before a jury, federal authorities effectively folded in advance, handing Epstein an extraordinarily lenient deal that protected him and shut down a broader federal investigation into his trafficking operation.

  • “Dudes, You Killed That Dude”: The Inmate Account That Raised New Questions About Guards at MCC
A federal inmate told investigators that shortly after Jeffrey Epstein was found dead inside the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan, prison guards themselves were openly questioning what had happened. According to the inmate, he overheard officers talking among themselves about the death and one guard bluntly remarked, “Dudes, you killed that dude,” implying that staff believed their own failures or misconduct may have contributed to Epstein’s death. The statement surfaced during FBI interviews conducted as part of the investigation into the circumstances surrounding Epstein’s death in August 2019 while he was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.

The account added to growing scrutiny over how the jail handled Epstein’s confinement. Epstein had previously been placed on suicide watch but was later removed from it, and on the night of his death two correctional officers failed to perform required inmate checks. Those same guards were later accused of falsifying log entries to make it appear that rounds had been conducted. The situation highlighted a series of breakdowns inside the facility — including staffing shortages, lapses in monitoring, and procedural violations — that raised serious questions about how one of the most high-profile inmates in federal custody could be left unmonitored in the hours before he was found dead.

  • Surviving Jeffrey Epstein: Theresa Helm
Theresa Helm has alleged that she was deceived and abused by Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell in the early 2000s. According to her account, she was approached by Maxwell with what appeared to be a professional opportunity—an interview for a position as a massage therapist for a wealthy couple. Helm, then a young woman aspiring to build a career, accepted the invitation and traveled to Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse. Once there, she says the situation quickly turned predatory. Maxwell introduced her to Epstein, and what had been framed as a job interview devolved into a sexual assault. Helm described being manipulated by both Epstein and Maxwell, who she says worked together to lure in and exploit vulnerable young women under the pretense of employment.

Since coming forward, Helm has emerged as a vocal advocate for survivors and a critic of how authorities handled the Epstein case. She has called for the full release of government records and files tied to Epstein’s criminal operation, arguing that these documents hold the key to understanding the full scope of the abuse and those complicit in it. Helm has also been outspoken in her belief that the issue should not be reduced to political point-scoring or media spectacle; instead, it should remain focused on justice and transparency for victims. Her story adds to the growing body of allegations illustrating the systemic nature of Epstein and Maxwell’s trafficking ring, which thrived on deception, institutional failures, and a disturbing ability to operate in plain sight.

  • Inside The OIG Interview: The Testimony Of An Unnamed CO/Lieutenant (Part 8) (5/24/26)

In a sworn interview with DOJ Office of Inspector General investigators conducted on June 14, 2021, an unnamed lieutenant and former correctional officer from MCC New York was questioned as part of the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s death and the broader security failures surrounding his incarceration. The interview began with investigators explicitly stating that the probe focused not only on Epstein’s death itself, but also “everything that surrounds that time,” including job performance failures and security breakdowns. The correctional officer agreed to a voluntary interview under oath and spent much of the early questioning outlining his career history, including prior work as a New York City probation officer, a brief stint with New York State corrections, and his transfer to MCC New York in 2013 after beginning his BOP career at Allenwood in Pennsylvania.

The deposition is another piece of the sprawling federal effort to reconstruct exactly what happened inside MCC New York before Jeffrey Epstein was found dead in his cell on August 10, 2019. Investigators were clearly trying to map out the staffing structure, chain of command, and personnel who were present during the chaotic period surrounding Epstein’s incarceration, including after his first alleged suicide attempt.

  • Sarah Kellen And The 302 Interview With The FBI (5/24/26)
This FBI FD-302 memorializes a December 4, 2019 proffer interview with a heavily redacted woman who described both financial and sexual dimensions of her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein. She told investigators that in late 2018, after financial stress connected to apartment renovations and after public reporting on Epstein had already intensified, she met Epstein at his New York residence and explained her financial situation. Epstein allegedly called his accountant Richard Kahn during the meeting and arranged for $250,000 to be wired to her, telling her not to tell anyone about the money. She also described receiving another large payment from Epstein, bringing the total to $350,000 between 2013 and 2018. The document also places Lesley Groff in the chain of contact, with the woman saying Groff told her to come meet Epstein if she was in New York. The woman said she did not initially connect the money to press scrutiny or the Miami Herald reporting, portraying Epstein’s payment as part of his broader pattern of financial control and “generosity,” though the timing is obviously significant.

The most disturbing portion of the interview centers on the woman’s description of Epstein’s sexual control, coercion, and abuse across multiple locations, including Palm Beach, New York, Paris, New Mexico, and his island. She said Epstein directed her sexually, woke her by touching her, summoned her to sleep in his bed, dictated how she should touch him, controlled aspects of her appearance, and made her feel she had no meaningful choice. She described one Palm Beach gym encounter as an aggressive rape, saying Epstein turned the music up, closed the hurricane shutters, pulled down her pants, and had intercourse with her. She also placed Ghislaine Maxwell directly inside the sexual machinery, saying Maxwell was present during an early encounter, touched her, instructed her where and how to touch Epstein, made sexually explicit comments, and helped normalize Epstein’s demands. The interview also describes Maxwell’s broader household authority: approving bills, running Epstein’s homes, overseeing staff and logistics, and creating an environment where the woman felt isolated, ashamed, dependent, and unable to tell anyone because her friends, work, lawyers, housing, and relationships were all tied back to Epstein’s world.
