Research Update: SIOUX CITY, Ia., Oct. 8, 1921 - Harry Smith, one of a gang of five bank robbers who were sentenced to life terms for the murder of William Maxwell, son of Sheriff Hugh Maxwell, at Lemars and who later effected his escape from Fort Madison, has been re-arrested and is being held in the Ward county jail at Minot, N. D., for the murder of a deputy sheriff in Kenmare, N. D., according to advices received by the Sioux City police.
