Scholars have many opinions on what pronoun to use when referring to the Holy Spirit. Most settle for “he,” because Jesus uses a male pronoun for the Holy Spirit in John’s gospel, even though pneuma (the New Testament Greek word for spirit) is a neuter noun. Others settle for “she,” because ruach (the Old Testament Hebrew word for spirit) is feminine. Other scholars will argue for calling the Spirit an impersonal “it,” since “the Old Testament often uses metaphors and symbols for the work of the Spirit of God.”

Everything spiritual is made manifest through science. Our scientific bodies live in a scientific world made of science. Anything that happens in us or around us, happens to us scientifically. You cannot experience something if you, as a scientific being, don’t have some kind of scientific sensor go off in your body somewhere. You are science.

We had to get into some tough subject matter that day, and God didn’t want to force it on them. What was ahead of them was dark and painful. Jesus wanted to help them work through it, but not if they didn’t want him to.

It was like a scene straight out of a horror movie. I dreamt that my reflection in the mirror didn’t match my actions. When I turned to look my reflection directly in the face, there was something like a demonic version of myself with black eyes staring back at me. Add to this the terrifying effect of everything in the dream going silent and my ears ringing so loudly that they continued to ring in real life when I woke up.

After being mocked by the demon for twenty minutes, I went to plug my phone into the church soundboard and play some worship music over the speakers. The manifested demon saw what I was doing and ran over and unplugged the phone.
