“I need you to do this without me in their garden. I need their view of me to stay intact and not be warped.” My heart raced as the Holy Spirit seemed to sleeptalk these instructions to me out of my participant during our session.

They then woke up and looked at me, confused. “Did I fall asleep?”

“Uh… sort of?” I stuttered. “You know how I usually have you meet with Jesus in that garden in your daydream? Can I have you return there for a moment to test something?”

As the demons left my participant, strawberries began to grow all around their daydream. “I imagine that’s the fruit of the Spirit. What happens if you take a bite?” I suggested, since these kinds of visions are highly interactive.

I find that people struggle to find anger for their trauma for two primary reasons:

The trick worked. By brashly applying their thinking to another real-life situation, they saw the faults of their beliefs. The demon had worked hard to get them to equate their trauma to patheticness, but now the lie was breaking.

“What you’ve experienced today was real and powerful,” I’ll often tell my participants after an exorcism session full of tears and revelation. “Now as Jesus says, ‘do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.’”

I always get weird reactions to this statement, as I’m sure Jesus did too. “What do you mean?” they ask with a puzzled look.

“Really? You called Jamin over?” the manifested demon exclaimed as I came into the room. It then proceeded to list the names of my sponsors, though it screwed up one of their names (demons are not omniscient and have to work off of memory). I had never met this demon before this moment, but it had been to my church plenty of times.

“While you were preaching, I couldn’t get this gibberish out of my head,” a participant told me one Sunday as they handed me a piece of paper.

Feeling curious, I typed the gibberish into Google Translate real quick. “You don’t know these words?” I asked. 

“No,” they responded. 

“It’s Latin,” I replied.
