Ruth Wu, owner of Elysian Aerial Arts, joins us to share the complete story of welcoming her first baby into the world—without pain medication. From her water breaking in the middle of the night to laboring at home under the guidance of her doula, Ruth takes us through every stage of her birth experience. By the time she arrived at the hospital, she was already 7 centimeters dilated, but the journey was far from over. After 12 hours of labor and an intense three hours of pushing, she successfully delivered her baby unmedicated.
We also talk about the preparation that helped her feel confident heading into labor, including the parenting book Twelve Hours' Sleep by Twelve Weeks Old, which she credits with helping her baby sleep through the night. Producer Meisha Lee joins Kerry for a candid conversation about what really happens behind the scenes of auditions and casting. Early in her career, Meisha was devastated after losing out on a coveted dance gig—only to be offered the role of assistant choreographer instead, a twist that ultimately changed the course of her career.
Together, Kerry and Meisha unpack the realities of auditioning, why success isn't always measured by booking the job, and how performers can build lasting careers by understanding the casting process. Meisha also shares the mindset that helped her navigate rejection, plus the hilarious story of the time she and Kerry went head-to-head in an unforgettable dance-until-you-drop audition battle—with only one of them walking away victorious.

This episode is a special re-release in honor of the late Limmie Pulliam, a powerhouse dramatic tenor whose extraordinary path to success defied every expectation. Originally recorded in 2023, Kerry sits down with her college friend to talk about his late-blooming rise—from singing in a small-town church choir to commanding some of the world’s most prestigious opera stages.
After learning of Limmie’s passing on May 19 at age 51, Kerry felt compelled to share this conversation again as a tribute to his life, talent, and larger-than-life spirit. Limmie was truly a force of nature, and in this episode, he opens up about forging his own path, trusting the timing of his journey, and redefining what success can look like.

The Expecting Aerialist at the intersection of the aerial athlete’s lifestyle and motherhood. I share the stories of women from all over the world about their prenatal and postpartum journeys touching on topics such as pelvic floor dysfunction, diastasis recti & C-section recovery and postpartum mental health. Some guests are everyday women turned badass hobbyists and others are professionals currently performing for Cirque du Soleil.
I ask the key questions - How did they get back to what they love to do? How do they view their athletic body now that it has undergone birth? How was the emotional and mental transition to motherhood and how has it changed the way they see themselves? How do outsiders perceive athletic pregnant women? What is their routine and how can we learn from them?
