If at first you don’t succeed, redefine success. – George Carlin
Today’s “Would you rather”:
Would you rather work in a high paying job that you hate ora low paying job that you love?
What does success mean to you?
What if your goal isn’t as big as someone else’s?
Is it wrong to have small goals?
Your definition of success should be intrinsically motivated.
When your journey towards success is extrinsically motivated you are focused on competing with others, looking a certain way to someone
else, proving yourself, or achieving arbitrary goals that you didn’t choose in the first place.
Ask yourself, what do you really want?
Are you on YOUR path or a path that someone else chose for you?
Success looks different to everyone.
We also talk about authenticity and social media and how social media makes it hard to truly be authentic. Social media can make us pursue
a version of success that isn’t authentic.
Does more money equal more happiness?
Ask yourself why you are achieving the goals that you are achieving.
Take the time to celebrate the steps you take towards your individual definition of success.
The “American Dream” doesn’t have to be your dream.
Don’t spend your whole life chasing someone else’s dreams.
Success is about finding your happiness and your fulfillment.
Your journey will look different than someone else’s, that’s the beauty of life!
