When belief and unbelief are both present, how do we move forward and see faith cultivated in our own lives? From Mark 9, Sarah explores challenges to our faith and the help that prayer offers.

We had a panel discussion regarding faith, exploring how God is at work in the lives of three people in our community. We were encouraged to trust God in areas where our faith is strong and also in areas where our faith is still developing. It was an encouraging time of sharing our own Hebrews 11 stories.

While scripture speaks of literal temples and records the history and future of Mt. Zion in Jerusalem, Zion is also the prophetic and poetic name the Lord chose to use for his worshiping church. As the Lord’s dwelling place, his love, power and truth reside in us.

Jesus was described in Isaiah 53 as a man of sorrows and someone acquainted with grief. As Jesus’ disciples, we experience what Jesus did. Not only can Jesus relate to us in our sorrow and grief, but he wants us to grow deeper in our love of him through them and not be detoured by the pain. Sorrow and grief are also keys that the Lord has given us to identify areas in society and culture that need to be set right and we need to ask the Lord to lead us by his grief.

When social pressures tempt us to conform, we remember the truth of who we are in Christ. When failure threatens, we choose the Holy Spirit’s power instead of our own strength. And when we fear punishment, we can run to God’s love. (Please pardon the sound change during the message as there was a change in microphones).

Aaron explores different aspects of the spirit of power (2 Timothy 1:7) The study looks at Jesus’ ministry, the early church, and the life of the disciples and how we can take those examples and walk in the power that God has given us for today. We end by looking at a church in the book of Revelation who had “little power/strength” but God opened doors for them as was faithful to establish them as pillars.

Fear is the enemy of love, power and truth. Through the story of Daniel and his companions, Sarah encourages us to stand firm in the promises of God. He will be with us in the fire (Daniel 1-4 and 2 Timothy 1:7).

Aaron launches us into a new series on experiencing and ministering in the love, power and truth of God. The message focuses on John 4 and the story of the Samaritan Woman at the well. Aaron reflects on the heart of Jesus to reach a people group that was despised and through it bring a revelation of who He is and the nature of true worship.
