Silas and Christian are joined by fight-site favourite Dan Tom to recap the epic and controversial super-fight between featherweight and lightweight champs Alexander Volkanovski and Islam Makhachev at the top of UFC 284. The card also featured Yair Rodriguez' dominant win over Josh Emmet to claim a completely unnecessary interim championship and another first round destruction from the show's favourite prospect Jack Della Madalena.

Islam Makhachev vs. Alexander Volkanovski was a thriling contest where both fighters flipped everyone's expectations arse-over-tits: Mak did very well in striking, and Volko looked extremely formidable in wrestling. It was a razor-close fight where both competitors found a fair share of eye-catching moments of success.

Iggy does a deep dive into the moment-to-moment exchanges and techniques performed by both fighters, and talks about points of improvement, tactics and just stuff to watch out for in the potential rematch in general. He also touches upon some of the promotional weirdness surrounding the fight, and the unfortunate situation in which Islam Makhachev may have found himself in a Rocky Balboa-esque Mason Dixon-type conundrum when it comes to the narratives surrounding the fight.
