This Week in Disney History

• May 1, 1989, Disney-MGM Studios, Walt Disney World's thrid theme park, opens to the public. Also, Pleasure Island officially opens to the public. Almost, thirty years later and both have undergone name changes, among other major changes.
• May 2, 1964, Great Moments with Mr Lincoln, a stage show with one of Disney's first audio-animatronics, debuted at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. This attraction would later be moved to Disneyland where it exists today.
