In John 10:9, “I am the gate; whoever enters through Me will be saved.” What a wonderful provision and a wonderful promise that is. Because of this verse, we know that our departed loved ones who have believed in Christ are face-to-face with their Savior. Remember, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

When you die as a Christian, your body goes to the grave, your soul and your spirit go to be with the Father and await the resurrection body; it’s the new body that you’ll get. Even though we cannot see heaven or begin to understand the scope of God's abode, our departed loved ones are basking right now in His glorious provisions and enjoying their new environment to the fullest.

A lot of people think you go to hell because you commit sins. That's not true. All sins—past, present, and future—were paid for on the cross. What people go to hell for is refusing to believe that Jesus Christ is the anointed Son of God.

The Bible is an absolute standard. It is not relative and it is not subjective to the situation. It is what it is.

There are two ways to live your life. You can live it according to the absolute standard of the Bible that is alive and powerful. Or you must choose some other way to live it. You must have some other rules to govern your life, some other way to think. Since you don't want to think divine viewpoint, you are not interested in what the Bible says, then you have to come up with some sort of human viewpoint, some sort of alternative way of thinking, rationalizing, perceiving what is truth and what is fiction.

You have to learn to respect the Bible. God preserved it for you. God left it for you. It is your course correction. It is your direction in life.

The Bible was around before you got here and it’s going to be around when you are gone. It is alive and powerful. It will change you if you will believe it and learn it and live it. It will give you a history and a definition and a purpose and a meaning in your life.

The Word of God is powerful, guiding and protecting you from yourself and from Satan, who obviously has a plan to destroy you, to deceive you, to discourage you, to defeat you.

Jesus Christ took our personal sins on the cross. Christ paid for them. God the Father judged Him in our place. “He [God] made Him [Christ] who knew no sin [that’s the sins perfection of Jesus] to be sin for us [He assumed our sins on the cross] so that we might be made the righteousness of God through Him” (2 Cor 5:21). Recovery from sin is based on the work of God, grace, not any works on our part. God the Father did not forgive our sins on the cross, He judged them and canceled them out. “I am He Who blots out your sin for My own sake, and I will not remember your sins” (Is 43:25). When you sin, you break fellowship with God. To restore fellowship you need to use rebound, confess your sin through silent prayer. There is only one sin that’s unforgivable and that’s the sin of unbelief - someone failing to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the anointed Son of God (1 John 5:10). The source of all sin is our volition.

You have a mind and a heart, the invisible parts of your soul. Wisdom is stored in the heart and learned in the mind. When you hear the teaching of the Word of God and you learn it, it doesn’t do any good until you apply it in your life. “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” (Prov 1:7). The objective of life is to get as much Biblical wisdom as possible to have foresight and discernment to make good decisions. Without humility, you can’t orient to God’s gracious wisdom. “Arrogance only breeds quarrels but wisdom is found in those who take advice” (Prov 13:10). The wisdom of God is never relative - it is always absolute. It doesn’t change. Divine viewpoint—a lifestyle of wisdom—is the highest form of happiness that can exist in this life. It is the sum total of the Word of God you’ve learned and applied in your life.

Volition is the chooser, the decider in your soul. Developing a FLOT line in your soul is positive volition. Negative volition is refusing to believe or learn the Word of God. Negative volition is also refusing to rebound a known sin. “If I regard inquiry in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” (Ps 66:18). If the Holy Spirit is quenched in your life by unconfessed sin, then there can be no faith perception because you’ve shut off the teaching ministry of the Holy Spirit. Many Christians fall into negative volition by being distracted by the details of life. That’s why we’re told in the Bible to put on the full armor of God to withstand the lures of the devil’s world (Eph 6:11-17).

Satan can’t make you do anything. He can tempt you and your sin nature can tempt you, but the source of all sin is your volition. You choose to sin. Base your decisions on thought, not emotions. The Word of God in your soul is the only thing that will sustain you, carry you through adversity and prosperity in life. Don’t dwell on past failures. “Forgetting those things that are behind” (Phil 3:13). Move ahead in your spiritual life. Use your situation to gain an advantage. Your volition chooses to sin and your volition chooses to confess the sin. Stay filled with the Holy Spirit by using rebound to handle your sin. You need the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit to grow as a Christian. “The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26).

Jesus Christ controls history. God has a wonderful plan for your life so what is there to fear? Nothing. A relaxed mental attitude is a faith-rest approach to life. An RMA is best described as having the mind of Christ. “Let this mind be in you that was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil 2:5). It’s your understanding and maximizing the use of impersonal and personal love. It gives you the ability to look at people (that’s virtue love) and look at circumstances (with faith-rest) in a different way so you don’t think as the rest of the world thinks. Your mental attitude is what you are at any given time throughout the day. Your thoughts drive your decisions.

Often these types of crimes are committed by those we love and trust. A principle - never do business at church. “Do not fret because of the evildoers” (Ps 37:1). Use your 10 problem-solving devices and let the Lord handle it. God knows exactly what’s going on. “The eyes of the Lord are in every place watching the evil and the good” (Prov 15:3). You can count on the justice of God. The Lord is well aware of what happened to you. Trust and appreciate His care and provisions. “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (Ps 37:4).

Only those who go through the gate of Jesus Christ, faith alone in Christ alone, will be in heaven. Jesus Christ is the gate. He is the way. He is the truth. He is life. “Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven; but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven” (Matt 7:21). “This is the will of the One who sent Me, that you believe in Me whom He has sent” (John 6:40). When you believe in Jesus Christ the door is opened and you walk into eternal life. Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose again. For you. He is with God the Father today. You can expect, with confidence, the same thing since you are in Christ and a member of God’s royal family. “We are confident, I say, willing rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord” (2 Col 5:8).
