‘The Full Go’ begins with Jason’s recap of NBA All-Star Weekend (01:00). For many basketball fans, All-Star Weekend has always been a special time to celebrate the game. With the NBA at 75, this weekend was no different, yet Jason believes there are many things that can be improved about the event (10:00). Mirin Fader (Ringer staff writer/N.Y. Times bestselling author) joins the show to discuss her profile of DeMar DeRozan (15:00). DeMar’s late-career renaissance with the Bulls didn’t happen overnight, and the road to getting here was treacherous. Mirin talks about how DeRozan’s personal loss in life led him down a path to find himself (27:00), and how he has become a great example to Ayo Dosunmu (30:00). As the second half of the NBA season begins, the power vacuum in the East is up for grabs after the Ben Simmons–James Harden trade. However, there was something that bothered Jason about the way the trade was covered by some in the media (33:00). Big Ten basketball was interesting for about 30 seconds on Sunday. Jason breaks down the Juwan Howard–Greg Gard dustup that had everyone talking, including callers to our voicemail line at 773-359-3103 (43:00).
Host: Jason Goff
Guest: Mirin Fader

‘The Full Go’ begins with Jason discussing the state of baseball during the lockout (02:47). As we find ourselves at the NBA All-Star break, this is usually the time when baseball fans begin to get excited for their summer companion. However, with the lockout ongoing, baseball is looking at losing not only regular-season games, but new fans as well. We’ve hit the All-Star break, and we’re still looking for new ways to describe what DeMar DeRozan is doing this season. After breaking a record set by Wilt Chamberlain, DeRozan’s game also happens to resemble another all-time great who Bulls fans should be familiar with. Jason discusses what we’ve learned about DeRozan so far this season, and why he has been such a breath of fresh air (19:42). Jason got a chance to catch up with Cameron Jordan of the New Orleans Saints while on radio row for the Super Bowl. In this interview, Jordan discusses his ascension up the list of active NFL sack leaders, playing without Sean Payton, and why the NFL and NFTs are a perfect pair (31:50). The Bulls may have finally found the depth at center they’ve been looking for as Tristan Thompson makes his way to Chicago via Indiana. Jason has some friendly advice to help make Tristan’s stay in Chicago a successful one (46:30).

Joe Cowley (Chicago Sun-Times) has seen a lot during his tenure covering the Bulls, from the D-Rose years to the rebuild and today’s new regime. He and Jason discuss the biggest story lines behind the Bulls’ success this year (17:07), why Bulls fans shouldn’t view this team through the lens of a championship window (22:13), and what has impressed Joe the most about Arturas Karnisovas (29:22). Joe describes the end of his run covering the White Sox, how it turned bad, and how ethics in journalism was always a part of his values (33:44). Plus, how a battle with cancer shaped his mentality for better or worse (39:20). While on radio row for the Super Bowl, Jason got a chance to talk to two members of the Cleveland Browns, Anthony Walker Jr (50:42) and Greg Newsome (01:01:21).
