Hebrews 4:1-11; In this message, Paul teaches us to read and listen to Scripture through the eyes of the first century Jewish community asking the questions: Who are we? What is our problem? What is the solution? In this text we’re called to a new Sabbath rest, but what about the suffering in our lives? What about “taking up the cross”?

Hebrews 3:7-18; This teaching examine chapter three of the letter to the Hebrews, discussing the importance of belief and also the relationship between belief and action. Obedience and belief. Disobedience and unbelief. The deceitfulness of sin.

Hebrews 2:5-18; In this teaching, Joel discusses the imminent suffering and death which the early church was facing and the writer's assurance that there is no longer any fear of death. How has Christ saved us from the fear of death and what does this mean? How does this change our attitude and the way we live our lives?

Hebrews 2:1-5; 6:1-10; In this teaching, Joel observes the warnings throughout Hebrews to those who believe they're on the side of Christ but are really not. As we live our lives, we must be very careful that we're not, in fact, drifting far from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 1:1-4; Joel begins a new series in Hebrews through examining the opening question of Jesus as the "exact representation of God" and what this might be for us as Jesus people. This teaching also consists of The Garden's vision for 2011 here in Baltimore and what it may mean for us to reflect the Image of God.

John Parker Text: John 3:16-21 Synopsis: John talks through the Gospel specifically in regards to condemnation. There is no condemnation for those in Christ.

Each Christmas most of us spend a lot of money getting a lot of stuff for a lot of people. And on Christmas morning, amidst the torn wrapping paper, packaging, and trash, we silently wonder if we’ve somehow missed it.This morning we examine God’s gift to the world and discover a gift-giving beyond the material.

For too many, Christmas has become a season which they no longer anticipate with expectation but rather dread. Why? Credit card debt, unfathomable shopping lists, and pressure. Is this really Christmas?This morning we see examine the concept of “Empire” as we explore the empire surrounding Jesus’ birth and realize that these same forces are alive and at work today.

The end result of generosity for the early church was that more people were drawn into worship. The believer's own faith increases, and even those on the “outside” benefit; all people were drawn to worship God more fully.This week we focus on the end goal of generosity: to bring glory to God.

This teaching zooms into what may seem like strange aspects of generosity which includes tithing and joyful giving. "Tithing" has become something debated causing splits and divisions among Christians who fight over whether or not tithing is obedience or legalism. And "joyful giving", in a culture of consumerism, is simply a strange concept in and of itself. Join us as we study these elements and discover a radical kind of generosity which makes sense of strange things.
