2 Corinthians 8:1-19; This teaching begins a new series focusing on the radical generosity which marked the early church. In our consumer driven and materialistic culture, we are tempted to not only love money but allow it to enslave us. A life of generosity becomes a radical statement of a community which belongs to an entirely different Kingdom.

John 3:22-30; This final teaching in this series zooms in on the life and times of Jesus. John the Baptist's followers approach John, concerned that Jesus is gaining more followers as he is now also baptizing. John the Baptist's response teaches us of the supremacy of Jesus and the complete joy which is found in making him known. The final line in this passage smacks at religion and reminds us that it is, and has always been, all about Jesus.

Acts 9:1-18; One of the most important moments in the history of the church, the conversion of Paul (who was called Saul). Religion, as seen in Paul’s former life, is driven by dominance and power whereas the Gospel loses the power of this world to find real strength and significance. This teaching discusses the conversion from religion to real spirituality.

Hosea 3:1-5; This teaching looks at one of the most heart-wrenching and radical stories in the Scriptures, a living example of God’s forgiving love. Hosea, a prophet, one who must speak to the people and point them to a greater glory, is called to do the unthinkable. Hosea’s story defies cultural norms, confronts religiosity, and points us to the deep, vast, and unending love of God.

2 Samuel 12:1-14; Where religion portays a God of retribution, the Gospel is about a God of restoration. This teaching looks at the story of David: an adulterer, a liar, a murder, and “a man after God’s own heart.” As we look at the restoration of David, we’re reminded of God’s grace in our own lives and that God is not a God of retribution but a God of restoration.

In this teaching we look at the story and testimony of Moses. With the loss of God’s presence at hand, Moses begs God to continue with them. Real spirituality requires a powerful and living God whereas religion can entirely exist without the presence of God.
