She was the daughter of actress Debbie Reynolds and singer Eddie Fisher, had her Broadway debut at 15, and made her first appearance on film in Hal Ashby’s 1975 comedy "Shampoo," opposite Warren Beatty and Goldie Hawn. She'd later become a household name in the 1977 debut of George Lucas' Star Wars. While traveling to promote the release of her latest book, "The Princess Diarist," a memoir of her time shooting the Star Wars films, Fisher went into cardiac arrest mid-flight and was given cpr until the plane landed. Fisher suffered a massive heart attack and was pronounced dead after a short stay in the hospital. She was 60 years old.
