The Geeky Waffle

Though reboot fatigue seems to be all the rage, sometimes they can hit just the right spot.

This week Candace and Arezou are joined by their friend and Geeky Waffle writer Hope to talk about their favourite reboots and what they did right. They also dive into the benefits of bringing an old story to a new generation, and try to decide what actually makes something a reboot?

In honor of the upcoming Jungle Cruise movie, Candace, Arezou and Bri discuss which theme park rides they would like to see get the big screen treatment.

A justification for why the Space Mountain Travelers are headed to space? Another take on the Haunted Mansion using Paris’s Phantom Manor as inspiration? Plus what other theme parks have rides worthy of Hollywood? Come for the movie ideas, stay to hear which ride Arezou rode drunk and had an emotional breakdown on (hint: it’s not Star Wars).

Turns out we were wrong: Black Widow is a real movie!

Candace is joined by Waffle Network host Catrina to talk about what it felt like to go back to the theater for the first time in a year to see the MCUs newest entry.

They also agree one two key points: they love Yelena, and Clint Barton is the worst.

Who doesn't love a good himbo?

This week, Candace Bri and Arezou dive into the history of the term, and reflect on the morbid reason why they might find himbos so appealing.

They also show love to their favourite pop-culture himbos like Kronk, George of the Jungle, and Jason Mendoza, and try to answer the all-important question: Is Thor a himbo too?

In honor of the year anniversary of Hamilton coming to Disney+ we talk to Broadway star and original cast member Carleigh Bettiol. She spoke about the filming of the show, working with Lin Manuel Miranda and how it is performing knowing Tom Hanks is in the audience.

Today Candace and Arezou are joined by their friend Alice to celebrate the 25th (!) anniversary of Disney animated classic The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

They reminisce about seeing the movie for the first time and what it meant to them, they try to make sense of the light marketing contrasted with the dark tone of the movie, and they dive into what it is that makes Frollo such a terrifying villain.

Also Arezou makes a case for why Phoebus and Ben Solo are the same character and absolutely no one is shocked.

Vanessa and Candace watched Disney's latest live action remake Cruella and they have thoughts. They talk about that "twist," Emma Stone's portrayal of the titular character and is Cruella really cruel?

Today, Candace, Bri, Vanessa and Arezou reminisce about the last 100 episodes of the show.

They  talk about the geekiest things they’ve ever done - from conventions, to nerd events, to real life touches - and take some time to mourn a childhood geeky staple that just doesn’t feel the same these days.

It was the night before Star Wars day.. .and all through twitter... Marvel unleashed chaos when they dropped their Phase 4 preview-slash-ode to to the moviegoing experience.

Today, Candace, Bri and Arezou discuss which Marvel projects they're most looking forward to, get nostalgic about movie theaters and speculate about whether Black Widow is a real movie or not.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the highly-stylized jukebox musical, Candace, Bri and Arezou share memories of Moulin Rouge.

Candace and Arezou love it, Bri hates it, though they can all agree Ewan McGregor is extremely hot in it. They talk about the parts that didn’t age well, the parts that still hold up, and the differences between the movie and the stage show.
