The Gen X Experience

Today NZ mourns for our beautiful Dame Jules Topp, and I wanted to pay homage to one half of a duo I watch busked in the early 80's on Auckland's K'Rd. I loved them ever since and followed them until I read the sad news yesterday. Fly high Jools, thank you for the laughter and the legacy. Much love to Lynda and the rest of the Topp whanau. I follow up these tunes with some other icinic NZ singers and song writers who too, have passed over to the otherside. OMC, Margaret Urlich, Graham Brazier, Mahinarangi Tocker and Max Merritt. Legends, everyone of them.

Hand picked iconic tunes with fantastic snippets of fact and tips about this movie and it's cast members. A movie I was excited to discuss as it comes from the golden Year of Cinema in 1994. Of which you'll learn more about in the episode. Thanks for listening beautiful people. Xx

Hey beautiful people, I've hand chosen my fav 19 tracks from this 41 track double album. It was one of our many records in our collection growing up. I played this weekly from an nearly age and had been listening to it for a number of years before I got to watch the movie. I've had a great time sharing interesting facts about George Lucas, the Wolfman Jack and the other early days actors from this movie. It's been one massive blast of nostalgia and I appreciate you coming along on the journey with me.

Start the day with a spring in your step and some toe tapping motivating tunes. I've got your news and weather too, and a great interview with our very own Emma from Xtreme Zero Waste who excited to bring us the what's up low down on what great things are happening up there - Rework It Workshops, Onsite Tours and the merging of our Enviroment Centre with the Recycling Centre. SO many great ways that small changes in our daily habits make a difference and how many ways our recycling centre can help us do that. Follow them on FB for all the latest news and info.

There's been so many great movies made with fantastic soundtracks that I needed to do another show with movie jams. This week we dive into fun facts around these movies and play 2 tunes from each: Top Gun, An Officer and a Gentleman, Billy Elliot, Grease, Footloose and the infamous Cheech and Chong movie 'Up in Smoke'. Hope you enjoy the show as much as I did creating it for you.

Kia ora koutou katoa! A very warm welcome and greetings to all the beautiful people of Raglan, Whaingaroa and beyond! Tune in for a fun filled show pumping out the rain songs, giving you the weather, news and as always my 'On This Day In History', which is always a bit of a laugh! I hope you've enjoyed the entertainment, take care out there in the feral rainy weather and I'll be back on Friday. Ma te wa everyone - see you later. Xx

Last week was so much fun and since I didn't play even half of the soundtracks I had planned for you, I'm doing it again! Movie soundtracks today include: The Big Chill, Saturday Night Fever, Purple Rain, Xanadu, Pretty Woman, and The Wedding Singer. Fun facts and interesting tips to share as always and doesn't that make for better listening when you learn something new about a favourite old song? Thanks so much for listening.

Join me for 2 each of some great soundtracks from iconic movies all delivered with a few tales and fun facts about the movies, the actors and/or all things interesting that happened onset or afterwards. Our lovely Jane from Heart Talks pops in to say hi and after 8 weeks of recovery it was fantastic to see her looking so well after a very big surgery. We have a bit of a chat and she tells us what she has on her show tomorrow. Thanks for listening beautiful people!

A morning of tunes with flowers in their titles as a farewell to summer and hello to winter! News, weather, tides, and on this day in history, both globally, locally and nationally. Entertainment for your start to thew week. Thanks for joining me for your start to the week.
