Join me for some incredible interviews - first with Damian Gordon, RIngleader for Circus Aotearoa for 13 years who's bring the NZ Juggling and Circus Festival to town this weekend; so much happening from workshops, to family shows and an free event at Papahua on Saturday at 3pm. Then I interviewed Kevin, Frankie and Harry from the Raglan Volunteer Coastguards. Everything from what they do, how can we support them, how to get involved and some stories of what can and does go wrong if you-re not prepared for the ever changing west coast!
Thanks for tuning in today for news, weather, local and national news and a bit of what's happening globally - nothing political just interesting stuff! What's happened on this day in history was particularly interesting for NZ but some good snippets globally too. I interview Julia from Neighbours Aotearoa who's platforming a fantastic initiative about Neighbours across the land. It starts with a conversation and simple question - what does neighbourhood mean to you? Find out more and how you can get involved. And last but not least my playlist for tunes is based around numbers - any numeral in the title and I play it. Don't worry, there were so many I think this will carry on into my theme on Monday's Morning Show.... hahaha!
Take a step back to the iconic 80's of neon logo's on white t-shirts, big hair, shoulder pads, leg warmers, and the rise of MTV. Nik Kershaw, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Bonjovi and so much more. It's been a real blast from the past and I hope you enjoy the trip as much as I did!
Thanks for tuning in for a lively morning of songs of colour, interesting news, sports, local and otherwise. This day in history, NZ and worldwide, celebrity birthdays and a word of the day. I talk about what I learned about petrol prices in NZ and the term rockets and feathers - very interesting facts! As always, I appreciate you all for listening and I hope you enjoyed the show and the great 'Songs of Colour' I played for your listening pleasure today.
Join me for the weather, local news, this day in history and some exciting sports achievements and upcoming glories. My musical playlist is around colours so we're shaking Stevens behind the green door, on a yellow submarine, and mellow yellow along the green river floating with 99 red balloons and more. I had a fab interview with Jami who's our Tourism and Events Workforce Development Advisor for Whaingaroa and from Go Raglan ihub with some important panui and conversations she wants and need Whaingaroa to get involved with. It was a very interesting and extremely relevant to Raglan interview so if your in the space for business, connections, workforce opportunities for youth and progression for business opportunities specifically to Raglan, this interview is for you!
Thanks for listening to the Morning Show filled with the weather, news both local and beyond, with this day in history facts both nationally and abroad. I interview Colin Chung, the iconic Raglan chef, caterer, author and hospitality consultant. Along with ith Fiona McNabb (from the Raglan Medical Centre) they're running two 3 hour workshops at the Community House all about Diabetes. Monday 16th and Monday 23rd March. This is a practical workshop with Colin, who's been managing type 2 diabetes for 20 years, making several dishes for you to try on the day with a budget and family friendly ethos in mind. Fiona will be there to ask about anything on the medical side of diabetes. This promises to be a fantastic workshop that will absolutely change lives! A koha towards the food is all that's asked if you're keen to attend. Let Mike from RCH know to get your spot secured!
Join the joyride! It's another afternoon showcasing some of my favourite female artists, singer song writers and legends. Dionne Warick, Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Toni Braxton, TLC, Roxette, Des'ree and more. It's been a pleasure making today's playlist up for you and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
Join me for a filled morning show with your news, weather, fun facts on this day in history, and so much more. Today's show features 2 interviews; Louisa Barham, Principal of Raglan Area School comes in for an in-depth chat about all the wonderful things that have happened and continue to happen at our fabulous local kura. Shona Butchart comes in next to let us know of the fantastic movies being showcased at the Old School Arts Centre along with a filled Friday line up of things happening in the gallery and acoustically sweet spot room upstairs.
News, weather, odd fun facts and a few yarns for Friday morning. An interview that didn't happen and next week's interview arriving a week early - it made for a slightly discombobulating morning and a bit of a laugh so listen in and let me know if you think I pulled it off! Hahaha...
Tune in for some of my favourite female vocalists from Helen Reddy to Etta James and lots more in between. Toni Childs, Pat Benetar, Heather Small, Cher, and Tina Turner are a few of the incredible powerhouse voices and talent you'll hear on my show today.
