The REAL indoctrination is convincing everyone that "patriarchy" is the natural state of things. But in this episode, we break down where patriarchy came from, and how it sinks its teeth into literally everything we do. From the invention of the first "state," our world evolved into a means of controlling the population, which meant treating AFAB people as property to maintain population numbers and instill beliefs into people so that they would assume the "natural order" included men on top and women, well, barely people at all. Religion is just another tool in their arsenal to keep people trapped in a worldview & belief system that does not allow them to question why their lives are so hard. We discuss how the existence of trans people threatens their worldview, and why they feel the need to keep the pressure and attention on US to distract from their own nefarious plans. MAGA is just the tip of the iceberg, because this is a thousands-year-long battle for our beliefs and autonomy that we are still fighting today.

Talarico (TX) and several other key Democrats running in the midterms this election have been wishy-washy at best, and outright transphobic at worst, but in any case, trans people are the topic of political conversation YET AGAIN! Instead of talking about the economy, rising prices, the ongoing war, AI, the climate apocalypse, increasing violence against marginalized people, ICE violence in our streets, or the surveillance state we're living under... everyone's just going on and on about TRANS PEOPLE! Why?! What is the strategy here?!

Fascism and imperialism can only continue to exist in a world that enforces a STRICT gender binary (and hierarchy), and the main goal is POPULATION CONTROL. If trans people are allowed to exist, we pose a direct threat to the story they've been telling us about people's "role" in society for thousands of years. Naturally, it becomes necessary, in order to maintain power, to paint us out as "freaks" and "mentally ill," instead of just "people with a slight variation in gender and possibly biology from other people." Every colonizer targeted trans people FIRST. Today, we're seeing that fight play out again, with politicians of BOTH parties running campaigns on being anti-trans or at least vaguely "not pro-trans." It was a winning strategy for MAGA in 2024, so they're pulling out all the stops (and many many millions of dollars) to try to repeat history.

We've talked a lot about trans people and how hormones affect us... but what about CIS people? Men who take testosterone supplements or injections outside of a doctor's recommendations MAY in fact be unknowingly feminizing themselves!

High testosterone in men is incredibly rare (naturally), but it is ON THE RISE. With the manosphere, Joe Rogan, Pete Hegseth, and the general vibe of the redpill & blackpill movements and a fear of femininity, men have begun DIYing their own accidental transitions by taking testosterone shots and supplements that they do not need, giving themselves a SERIES of side-effects that include depression, anger issues, bodily funtion failures, and... accidentally femininizing themselves.

It turns out, men ARE invading women's sports... but not in the way that you think. Recently, two men who have been accused of DV and other forms of abuse against women have declared themselves eligible to be drafted by the WNBA in the upcoming season... and while the nefarious purpose behind this may not be immediately clear, we dove into the potential cause and ramifications of their declaration in today's episode.

It turns out, men ARE invading women's sports... but not in the way that you think. Recently, Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White (who have incredibly valid DV/abuse against women accusations against them) have declared themselves eligible to be drafted by the WNBA! The problem is, they are not the masterminds behind this gambit--there is an entire industry behind weaponizing fear of trans people that has taken center-stage in our world, and the Heritage Foundation and the masterminds of the MAGA movement are moving quickly (and surprisingly intelligently) to push forward news stories and lawsuits that end with one clear goal: strip women of all rights and return us to an age before the 1920s.

With the recent Drew Afualo discourse and the general upwards trend of transphobia and transmisogyny spreading across the internet, we decided to take it upon ourselves to actually explain the DIFFERENCE between a transphobe and a TERF--and there IS a big one.

Anyone can be transphobic. Even a lot of trans people (especially the newly-out) harbor some quiet transphobic resentments and beliefs (some of those 'oh but you're not one of the GOOD trans people' or 'you're doing trans WRONG' people). But casual transphobia is NOT the same thing as being a TERF--a lesson that Laura learned all too well during the week of the Drew Afualo discourse (remember when we were all talking about whether or not trans women have a 'more beautiful' relationship with womanhood?), when a number of her favorite feminists took off their masks and revealed the deep-seated transmisogyny that they harbored within, along with secret conservatism, racism, and a whole host of other views that tend to group together to create the tapestry of TERFdom.

Laura recently met a man who felt "duped" by MAGA after voting for them. She took it upon herself to do some damage control and help him deconstruct his beliefs. This is her story, along with our conversation about whether or not we think YOU should be helping ex-MAGA / Trump voters unlearn their ideology (which definitely depends on whether you're cishet and/or White).

Upon meeting a MAGA voter in Wyoming, Laura took it upon herself to do some damage control and help him deconstruct his beliefs. The thing is... they're feeling unmoored. And if someone on the left doesn't find them, some grifter on the right WILL. She helped educate him on the truth about capitalism and socialism, and how MAGA and conservatives have weaponized fear and hatred of people who are doing no harm (trans people, immigrants, etc) to continue to get away with their particular brand of fascism. In this episode, Laura tells the story of meeting this man and helping him unlearn his beliefs, followed by a conversation about the correct way to do this and whose RESPONSIBILITY it is to put in this work.

When you're raised in a patriarchy, it's easy to struggle with femininity and womanhood, because misogyny is all around us. Trans women experience a very specific type called transmisogyny, which is an intersection of misogyny and transphobia. In this episode, Chloe breaks down a number of terrifying experiences with transmisogyny and how it impacts her day-to-day life, both in reality and online. She talks early transition and how things have changed and she passes more and is perceived more often like a woman.

Whether people want to admit it or not, almost all women have experienced some type of harrassment, bullying, SA, or violence at the hands of men. Trans women experience a new, full form of that ire, because they're perceived as women but ALSO--cis men feel like it's socially acceptable to harm them, because they're "really a man," and because of the rhetoric around trans people generally, men believe they're "protecting real women" from trans women when they hurt them. Whether it's violence at the hands of men, or casual, everyday hatred from cis men and women alike, trans women experience TRANSMISOGYNY, an intersection of misogyny and transphobia. In this episode, Chloe breaks down a number of terrifying experiences with transmisogyny (including several instances where men tried to unalive her) and how it impacts her day-to-day life, both in reality and online. She's taked less seriously, her feelings and experiences are dismissed, and no matter what she does, the majority of people simply refuse to treat her like a human being.

The variety of (natural) sexual and gender differences in nature go so far beyond what we previously understood, and we're learning more every day. Tranimals! They are all around us. From fish to lizards to birds to plants to shrimp to even mammals like lions and mice, it turns out that being transsexual isn't just natural, it's literally all around us. Humans love to think of themselves as being separate from the natural world, but we, too, are just animals, and our place in the natural world of evolution and science holds the key to so many mysteries that we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of. Trans people exist, just like turtles, frogs, birds, butterflies, trees, fish, lions, mice, and SO many other creatures that are capable of doing things you wouldn't even believe.

When you're raised in a patriarchy, it's easy to struggle with femininity and womanhood, because misogyny is all around us. Trans women and cis women alike are raised in this misogynistic world, but it affects us slightly differently, especially before and after transition. Today we're talking about our own personal experiences with misogyny, how it affected us, and which parts we had to unlearn from what we'd internalized.

Patriachal misogyny affects us all! We sometimes define our womanhood in opposition to it, rather than by defining it on its own terms. When you're raised in a misogynistic world, it's easy to internalize some of the ideas about what "femininity" and "womanhood" are SUPPOSED to look like, and unfortunately a lot of times that means trauma. SA. DV. Boiling our entire identities down to whether or not we're able to reproduce or conceive children. And that's what patriarchy wants from us. In today's discussion, we break down how trans women and cis women alike are affected by misogyny and how we need to unlearn those beliefs in order to grow into the fullness of our feminine power.
