Sadly,
for most Americans, Thanksgiving is nothing more than food, family,
and football. But Christians know better. Rediscover our precious
Christian heritage for which we should be profoundly grateful. Psalm
9:1 says, “I will give thanks to You, Lord, with all my heart; I
will tell of all Your wonderful deeds.”
Guest
host Adam McManus interviews Dr. Jerry Newcombe, Executive Director
of the Providence Forum, about his new documentary entitled The Pilgrims which will air on the NRB Channel tonight, November 22, at
8:00pm ET. You can also rent/stream it for $6, purchase/stream it for $10, or get the DVD for $15.
While
the politically correct activists falsely claim that the Pilgrims
were just thanking the Indians on that first Thanksgiving, 400 years
ago in 1621, the truth is that both groups were thanking Almighty God
for His goodness.
Learn
about the plot by renegade Catholics, led by Guy Fawkes, to blow up
the British Parliament and King James on November 5, 1605, with 1,800
pounds of gunpowder in 36 barrels. They wanted to violently force
England to revert to Catholicism.
When
the plot was uncovered and the men were tried and executed, King
James, the head of the Church of England, persecuted religious
non-conformists including the Catholics, the Puritans, and the
Separatists. Eventually, one separatist group, the Pilgrims, in their
quest for religious liberty, first went to Holland, and then to
America. You’ll hear about the Pilgrims’ 50-year treaty with the
Indians, and the Mayflower Compact, which laid the foundation for the
Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
Guests
on The Pilgrims include: Dennis Prager, Alveda King, Paul Jehle, Leo
Martin, Rod Gragg, Bill Federer, and William Wrestling Brewster, the
great-grandson (by 9x) of the de facto Pilgrim Pastor, Elder William Brewster.
