So bad that dark money groups are spending in all FOUR GOP held congressional districts in Colorado. Then, Jeff Crank is a douchebag for doxxing a friend of the pod, Michael Allen is full of shit, Victor Marx forgets the first rule of holes, and we’ve got more campaign ads, more idiocracy, and…choo-choo trains!

This week on the Get More Smarter Podcast, the voters -- they are voting! Just not in Colorado, quite yet! As the bluenami potentially turs into a Bluicane or a Bluenado or another, more intense azure disaster, we report on some significant movement in the polls because, apparently, voters are finally waking up! Then, we’ve got a grip of campaign ads because, as stated, voters are voting! 

Next, should bestiality be a disqualifying factor if one would like to join the FBI, where, famously, if you ever smoked a perfectly legal Colorado joint even once, you can’t join the bureau? FBI Director Kash Patel thinks not, for some reason! Then the ol “didn’t see the tweet” excuse comes back to Capitol Hill because there is no penalty for lying in Donald Trump’s America. And finally, Idiocracy was a documentary; mail ballots are safe, for now; this Congress is the worst Congress ever; and when it comes to voter fraud, it’s always a Republican.

Colorado is one of three states in the finals to host the Democratic National Convention in 2028, so we check in with Colorado Democratic Party Chairman Shad Murib about what it takes to bring the DNC back to the Mile High City.

THIS WEEK on the Get More Smarter Podcast, it’s another bonus interview-only episode! This time, we check in with Michael Farrington, candidate for RTD District K up in Adams county. 

Michael is a fourth-generation Coloradan who grew up and lives in Commerce City with his wife Kassidy and Great Pyrenees mix Zeus.

Michael graduated from the University of Colorado Law School, where he focused on land use, housing, and local government. During law school, he worked in the Colorado Governor’s Office of Legal Counsel and served as the lead articles editor of the Colorado Environmental Law Journal. He now works with Colorado cities and towns on local government and land-use issues. Before attending law school, he worked for Denver Public Schools.

Michael also co-founded YIMBY North Metro, a housing advocacy organization focused on building more homes and creating walkable, connected communities. An actual transit rider, he is running for the RTD Board in District K, a seat representing Brighton, Commerce City, and parts of Thornton.
