Push Nevahda, The Gist of Freedom host and Historian Chris Myers discuss HBO's new movie 'Iron Jawed Angels.' It is a graphic depiction of the battle these women waged for Equality; voting and labor rights. Kris and Push will breath life and understanding to this historic movement through a lively discussion of current political events.

Kris is a historian specializing in the life of Alice Paul. Ms. Paul was the architect of some of the most outstanding political achievements on behalf of women in the 20th century. Born on January 11, 1885 to Quaker parents in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Alice Paul dedicated her life to the single cause of securing equal rights for all women.

Mobbed in Utica: Welcomed in Utica on October 21, 1835, an angry crowd surrounded Bleecker Street Church in Utica, NY. Inside were over 600 abolitionist they gathered to form the first New York Anti-Slavery society. On Friday, October 22, at 7 p.m. the church which is now Smithfield Center located in Peterboro, N.Y. will be hosting a dramatic reenactment of the inaugural meeting of the New York Anti-Slavery slavery.
