The Give Me Five Podcast: An Uncultured Look at Pop Culture and Nostalgia

We took a week off and a ton of stuff happened. So heres a quick list of some of the things we might have talked about:

• The deaths of Luke Perry, Kieth Flint from Prodigy, King Kong Bundy
• Star Wars Galaxy's Edge News (the new Disney Star Wars area)
• How can I prepare a sample for spectral analysis of environmental genotoxicity assessment?
• How to Train Your Dragon 3: The Hidden World
• Why Pixar hates you and wants you to cry
• Kingdom
• Larry Charles Dangerous World of Comedy
• The Wreck it Ralph Void VR experience
• Eating an entire onion raw
• How to field strip a deer using a coat hanger
• Best eclair recipes
• Trolls on Captain Marvel's review page

Maybe not all of those things, but we did get a bit depressing at points, so we apologize.

Again.

And our question of the week:

What are the 5 most depressing animated films?

Two topics and a whole lot of ridiculousness this week. We checked out the cyberpunk film Alita: Battle Angel. Was it better than the last few sci fi bombs that came out? Was it as cool as the trailers would have us believe?

Then we chatted about the Netflix series Umbrella Academy. Originally a graphic novel by My Chemical Romance's Gerard Way, we discuss the series and how successful the creators were in bringing the eclectic source material to life.

Also, we got way too giggly about Jimmy's choice of snack and things kinda fell apart at the end.

And our question of the week:

What are 5 celebrities that surprised us by being excellent in multiple mediums? (like an actress that puts out an incredible album)

Netflix is messing with our minds again with Russian Doll starring Natasha Lyonne. This multi-part series will either enthrall you or at very least you will enjoy watching the lead die in a variety of creative ways.

Then we delve into the technicolor world of the Lego Movie 2. Will this movie live up to the original without the ability to surprise audiences with real-world twists.

Finally we revisit the Punisher season 2 to see if it ends as strong as it started.

And our question of the week:

What are the 5 best movies that repeat and reset time? (think Groundhogs Day)

Straight outta the padlocked freezer in Jimmy's storage unit, we go full-on psychopath, with Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes. Is it immoral to feature a narcissist in a documentary that he would totally love, even if he's too dead to know it's happening? Then we lighten things up a little with a lovely little violent hitman flick Polar.

Also better late than never seems to be the overriding opinion on Kingdom Hearts 3, but what is Robs opinion after spending a week with the game.

And our question(s)! of the week:

What are the 5 best movies about real crimes?

What are the best / weirdest unsolved crimes?

What are the best true crime books and documentaries?

If nothing else we are diverse. Where else can you learn about the failed music festival Fyre, AND Alexander Hamilton, AND the murderous Punisher in about an hour? And follow it up with deep introspection about Milli Vanilli?

Our pop culture riddled brains are here for your amusement people. Also, Rob gets to rant about something that annoys him, and we make terrible Super Bowl picks. (Are we supposed to call it "Big game" picks now?)

And our question of the week, what were the biggest scams in entertainment?
