ARTS: Today is day two of the South African Music Week
which is currently taking place at the Soweto Theatre.
The initiative is in its second year and it’s in partnership
with Canadian Music Week. We now speak to Michael
Moeti, CEO of SA Music Week.

South Africa is forging ahead with proposed
legislation that introduces strict new antismoking rules
and regulates e-cigarettes. According to the new
Tobacco Products and Electronic Delivery Systems
Control Bill, anyone that sells cigarettes to a minor can
be fined or sentenced to up to 15 years in prison. We now
find out more from Dr Tshimi Lynn Moeng-Mahlangu who
is the Chief Director for Health Promotion at the
Department of Health.

More than 150 people have been sleeping outside the Constitutional Court in Johannesburg to demand reparations for crimes committed during apartheid. We now speak to Nomarussia Bonase, Khulumani National Organizer and we’ll hear from the Justice Department.

Some donkey carts handed over to the North
West community as a mode of transport have already
broken down. Government bought 20 donkey carts valued
at around R780 000 to help transport villagers to clinics and
schools. Reports further say the company the government
allegedly said it had got the donkey carts from, has
distanced itself from the project. We now speak to Alpheus

A Zimbabwean mental health initiative
called the Friendship Bench is being exported to the
FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The model is temporarily being
exported to FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this month to
cast the spotlight on mental health. We now find out

Friendship Bench.
