The University of Johannesburg has launched a relief fund to aid the communities in KZN that have been affected by the recent floods. More than 400 people have lost their lives and many others are still missing. We now speak to Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, UJ Vice Chancellor & Principal.

There’ve been reports of graves being dug out as a result of floods in KZN. It’s also been reported that people are forced to carry dead bodies of their loved ones to the main roads as emergency vehicles aren’t able to access some affected areas. It’s reported that the death toll has risen to over 300 following the devastating floods. The South African Weather Service has warned of more rainfall forecast for the long weekend.
