April is sexual assault awareness month and South Africa has handed a 30-year prison sentence to the youngest recorded serial rapist in the country. The 17-year-old was found guilty of raping three boys aged eight to 10 on three different occasions. The incidents all took place in Katlehong, east of Johannesburg in 2020. The rapist was 15 at the time of the crimes. We now speak to Michael Benevolent-Masina who is a specialist at the Tears Foundation.

Public participation platform Dear SA has spoken out against government’s proposed health regulations. The draft health regulations have been published for public comment and citizens have until 16 April to make submissions. Government ended the national state of disaster and will replace this with these new regulations under the National Health Act. We now speak to Gideon Joubert, CEO of Dear SA

Five Decades of Ukuvamba is out. The book which is by guitarist and
researcher Billy Monama is an exploration of the history of the guitar
in Black South African popular music and includes music styles such as
marabi, maskanda, African jazz, kwela, mbaqanga and XiTsonga. Billy
joins us on the line.
