The only person stopping you from chasing your biggest dreams or doing the thing is you. Yup. I said it. You are the reason your dream is failing. You are holding on to beliefs that just aren’t true.
I never graduated from college. Having not gradated, I have struggled with so many limiting beliefs, for years.
Let me list out some of the limiting beliefs I have kept because I never graduated college.
I am not smart.
I am not hardworking enough.
I am not worthy of a career.
I have to work a career I hate because I didn’t graduate.
I do not deserve a high paying career.
I will never make 6 figures.
No one will ever listen to what I have to say.
I used to lie to people and tell them I had graduated. I felt so much shame and received so much pushback from people telling me that I obviously wasn’t smart if I never graduated. I felt like every time I talked to someone, they wanted to compare degrees. I held onto the limiting belief for years that I wasn’t smart enough to chase a dream. I felt like I was completely stupid and not capable of doing what those with degrees could do. I didn’t chase my dream. I thought because I had not graduated, I would never be capable.
When I decided to get my certificate in Nutrition Coaching, I was incredibly proud of myself. I was fiercely passionate about sharing my knowledge and experience with people and couldn’t wait to get out there to coach. It took me 3 years from the day I graduated from that program to the day I announced I was coaching. THREE YEARS because I listened to those voices in my head telling me that I was not capable. Three years because I heard everyone that had ever told me I didn’t graduate from college. Three years of feeling like I wasn’t smart enough.
Beyond not feeling smart enough for not graduating college, I have struggled with many other limiting beliefs.
I am not wealthy enough.
I don’t have the right set up.
I don’t have a house that’s perfect enough
No one will trust what I have to say.
I weigh too much.
My body isn’t ideal enough for the wellness industry.
I am not worthy enough.
I’ve been divorced- I am too broken.
I have anxiety- no one will trust me to coach them on managing anxiety.
I had a chronic binge eating problem- no one will trust me as a coach.
I don’t have enough social media followers.
I want you to stop now and take the time to write out all of your limiting beliefs. Next, I want you to write out why each isn’t true. Write out why you are beautiful, why you are deserving. Write out that you are worthy. Stop letting yourself hold you back. You are SO deserving of the biggest dreams, and you don’t have to hold yourself back anymore. Let yourself fly!
