In this episode I am encouraging you to live your dream! 

Yes! LIVE YOUR DREAM!

I did just that and I share with you about a friend of mine who is no longer with us, but she did it ALL! This is not a "live or die" challenge, this is about "going and growing."

I learned through living my dream I grew my soul and my spirit. I became more confident and forgiving of other people's lack of understanding of my dream. They are still my friends and I love them, and I think they may love me more because I stuck to my goal.

My message is that by living your dream is that we all grow and become better. Isn't that what dreams are for? I certainly think so.

I LOVE PAGEANTRY! And, I am proud to say now more people do too!

We know that it takes incremental steps and that we always have to try to do our very best. So, here is another incremental step I am taking while God had a plan for me to take a huge leap forward and travel across the US as "Mrs. American 2021!"

OMG!!! I am humbled and just so grateful that I made my little mark of success in pageantry. I have been wanting to do that for the last 30 years. Only God could plan this happening in my life at 53 years old.

So, I hope that you plan to continue listening to me and that I provide something fruitful and beneficial into your life so you can accomplish your heart goals and heal too.

Wow! This is the agreement that I work so hard every single day to live by..."The 4th Agreement," "ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST."

Just recently my life has been so greatly fulfilled by my past efforts of putting the energy to do my very very very very BEST. I had another story to tell but that is no longer relevant as to this new development in my life that I just have to share. I am the new National titleholder, "MRS. AMERICAN 2022!" 

Many of you may recall that I placed as 1st Runner-Up as Mrs. California at the National pageant where all the states compete for the national "Mrs. American" title. I poured my heart, my soul, my everything into winning that title but I came up short. But really did I by placing 1st Runner-Up? I felt in my heart, and I could swear I heard God whispering that this was my destiny. I was confused why I was home without the title after performing so well and many people believing that I would win. 

While I was home my father-in-law who I mentioned in this podcast did pass away. In fact, his funeral was the day of the international pageant that the winner was competing in. That night after the funeral of course, I tuned in to watch all the countries compete for the Mrs. World title. Well, it turns out God's plan was for me to be "Mrs. American." She won the international title of Mrs. World making me next in line to assume the title of Mrs. American! 

The lesson is to always just always practice the 4th agreement by always doing your best. If I had not done my best to place as 1st Runner-Up I would not have been able to assume the role of becoming the first woman in the state of California to hold the Mrs. American national title, the 1st Mrs. American for my pageant director, the 1st Black woman to win a national title in the state of California, the 1st Black woman to win Mrs. American, the 1st to win from Orange County, the 1st to win representing Palm Springs....and so on and so on!  I am humbled and so honored.

My trick to implementing the four agreements in my life is to practice the 4th agreement because if you are always doing your best then you have to practice all the other agreements too.

We have the tendency to make assumptions? Why do we think we are the boss and understand what really happened or what is really going to happen?

Assumptions in my opinion are based on our wisdom and experience of our reality (our dream) we are living in our life. Sure, your mom KNEW without checking that you were the one who ate the last cookie or that you didn't clean your room. This is based on your mom knowing your habits AND, "She is your MOTHER!"  But, you are not the MOM to others out there in the world. And, just because we as Americans share the same values doesn't mean we all like "STEAK."  

Honestly, I was embarrassed a couple of times of accusing someone of something that they had nothing to do with. I just saw them with that same person more than twice so I asserted that they "MUST BE!" AND, even more, troubling I told someone and they told someone, and so on. I hurt that person. AND, I hurt myself and my credibility. I really felt so badly and I realized that I needed my word to be "IMPECCABLE" (REMEMBER THAT?) 

Do you see how all these agreements work together in unison keeping our side of the street clean? I am a much better person because I "ASK" before I "JUDGE" and before I "SPEAK". The serendipity of this agreement is that my friends come to me more for advice and counsel. I remind them to pause and to not make assumptions but to find out the "FACTS" and the "TRUTH."

Oh Boy!!!, this is such an important agreement. My gosh, if you and I get this one we will become invincible. This agreement is what kryptonite is to Superman!

Follow me...okay. The Four Agreements explains how we are all domesticated. That means we have been socialized to "BE" the type of human beings we need to be to keep order in our society. That is my short explanation. So, we operate like a computer with conditional statements that run our hardware in our minds which dictate our behavior. So, we have this reality we have created which Don Miguel explains MUCH better than I can that we are living a "DREAM." Yes, we have this idea of how reality is supposed to BE, GO, and EVOLVE. So, when our reality gets shook up it triggers us to reflect and deflect everything back to us, "ME." 

Yes, we are all a bit of a narcissist. Own it! I will. As we get older most of us learn that the world does not revolve around us.  But, even we tend to think that maybe we had something to do with IT. 

So, IF we can remember that everyone is living in their heads in their own dream then we can make the conscious choice when we get offended not to blame ourselves whether it is good or bad. ...RIGHT???

Take for example and this actually happened to a friend of mine. We were walking to a restaurant for dinner. A car with some rowdy teenagers yelled to my friend, "Hey fatty!" She was so hurt and our fun dinner turned into a counseling session for her. Believe it or not, but that insult was not about her. In fact, it was about that teenager who feels so badly about their appearance that they had to target someone else with meanness to make themselves feel better. Those two people had never met and don't know each other at all. But, that random comment from a complete stranger turned my girlfriend's world upside down. Of course, I told her to not take it personally, but she could not do that.

Remember that old nursery rhyme, "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."  If we could all get to a place where we could be strong enough to know that what people say GOOD or BADcomes from their reality, perceptions, and upbringing we could be invincible instead of carrying around those insults from the present and the past that are NOT meant for us.

This is a POWERFUL POWERFUL POWERFUL agreement. "Don't take it personally!" You will see immediately how weak you are AND you will find your POWER and become STRONGER!
