We start with 1980's perverse, character-driven killer Santa film "Christmas Evil," follow up with 2005's Full Moon Features clunker (though inexplicably spawned a franchise) "The Gingerdead Man," before wrapping up with one of the weirdest films to come from middle-of-nowhere Wisconsin with the all-too-common "family member gets possessed by the spirit of an ancient Samurai at Christmastime" trope, 1983's "Blood Beat."

This week, Ryan and Chris dive into a trio of buddy cop/buddy action films of the "East Meets West" motif. We start with 1997's "Drive," an energetic, no-frills "Terminator" meets "Midnight Run" blast that has slowly developed a cult following over the years (and hopefully more people come away from this episode as converts), then move into 1998's "Rush Hour," a film that needs no introduction but perhaps some may need to throw away those rose-tinted glasses (spoiler: aside from Jackie Chan's action scenes, it sucks), before ending with a very special piece of VHS dirtbaggery that is just itching to be discovered by the world: 1988's "Silent Assassins," starring Sam Jones, Linda Blair, and a whole lotta dismembered body parts.

This week, Ryan and Chris put a cap on October by returning to Haddonfield, Illinois for a discussion on "Halloween Kills," the second in the new trilogy of films from director David Gordon Green (currently in theaters and on Peacock Premium). As we do with new releases, we divide this into a non-spoiler section and spoiler section (which we give plenty of warning before switching gears), but throughout the discussion - given the referential (overly so, one might say) nature of this latest installment - we pepper in our thoughts, feelings, and relationships to the other 11 films in the series (as opposed going film-by-film like our "Friday the 13th" episode which, while a lot of fun, ran way too long).
