We start with Dick Maas' 1983 cult classic "The Lift," move into 2010's "Devil" - with a story by and produced by M. Night Shyamalan - and finally struggle with every fiber of our being to comprehend 2010's "Malevolent Ascent," directed by esteemed "Suburban Sasquatch" auteur, Dave Wascavage.

This week, Ryan and Chris welcome friend of the show Ryan Frakes - the owner and manager of The Cinemagic Theater in Portland, OR - on the show to discuss horror anthologies and get us into the mood for spooky season. First, we start with George A. Romero and Stephen King's beloved 1982 macabre anthology "Creepshow," followed by a takedown of Glenn Danzig's 2019 garbage fire "Verotika," and sign off to discuss 1988 oddity "Waxwork," and decide whether or not it fits the bill as an anthology. Finally, The Good, The Bad, and the What!? will be hosting a showing of Juan Piquer Simon's 1982 trashterpiece "Pieces" on Saturday, October 16, at The Cinemagic Theater in Portland, and you can buy your tickets here! This week, Ryan and Chris return to a traditional three-film episode with a discussion about studio comedies with an unconventional comedian in the leading role. The basis for this episode stemmed from the unfortunate passing of Norm Macdonald, and we decided to pay our respects to Norm by discussing his 1998 starring vehicle "Dirty Work," a very lewd, offbeat, and funny comedy that aims to skew the archetypal Robert Simmonds production (who produced every Adam Sandler film from "Billy Madison" to "Little Nicky"). We then move to 1999's "Lost & Found," starring another SNL alumni, David Spade, in his first (of three) solo starring vehicles. It's right there in the title, that it should be lost and never found. Finally, we finish with a discussion, though it's more of an existential crisis in real-time, of Tom Green's absolute money burn middle finger to studio comedies, 2001's "Freddy Got Fingered."

This week, Chris and Ryan dive into alien assimilation films; most specifically of the "slug" variety, and even more specifically, all three films more or less have the same skeleton plot. We start with 2006's "Slither," James Gunn's goopy, gross-out horror-comedy that cemented early on that he has a skill for treating something like a complete lark and then disarming you with the human element. Then, Chris and Ryan have a slight disagreement about the placement of the next two films. Listen to the episode to find out, but the next films in question are cult favorites "The Faculty" - the Robert Rodriguez/Kevin WIlliamson joint from 1998 that homages '50s B-Movies while having that "hip" postmodern feel - and "Night of the Creeps," Fred Dekker's beloved 1986 oddity that too homages '50s B-Movies, albeit much more directly.

This week, Ryan and Chris dive into action movie vanity projects; films in which the star also directed (or had a very involved hand in the creative process). We start with 1994's "On Deadly Ground," the only film directed by Steven Seagal which is far more fascinating than it has any right to be (given that the notoriously egotistical and difficult Seagal made a film that's less about how he's the biggest, baddest [insert role here], but about environmentalism and the folly of big business). Then, we swing into 1988's "Braddock: Missing in Action III," Chuck Norris' problematic attempt to rewrite the efforts of the Vietnam War (directed by Chuck's brother Aaron Norris). Finally, we "Shimmy Slide" into one of the wildest vanity projects to every be made (and spend nearly half this overlong - one might call "vain" - episode on it): 1993's "Champagne & Bullets," aka "GetEven," a baffling symphony of bizarre decisions written, co-directed, produced, starring, and music written by one-and-done'r John De Hart.

It is Friday, August 13th, and for this week's episode, what better time than to look back on the entire history of the "Friday the 13th!" In an Uber(Jason)-sized episode, Chris and Ryan touch on all 12 films in the iconic horror series, their personal histories with the films, and the series' place in the annals of horror history. As per usual, we look narrow in on three films specifically, and for this, we dive deep on 1981's "Friday the 13th: Part II," 1985's "Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning," and 1989's infamous "Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan."
