We learn about yeast, kneading, and rising to make the easiest honey white bread. Ina shares a Belgium favorite of hers in the form of an open-faced tuna and HOOMIS (hummus)sandwich, and then for the grand finale its an effortlessly easy mussels with basil breadcrumbs!

This week Ina is whipping up a blue print lunch to thank the crew that built her new barn! On the menu are shortbread cookies in the shape of hammers, lobster paella, and a refreshing grapefruit and avocado salad. Ina whips up a pitcher of lemony Californian iced tea to wash it all down as her and the crew sit under Miguel's show-stopping blue print themed tablescape on the back patio.

This week we are celebrating the one year anniversary of The Good Vanilla and a belated 53rd Wedding Anniversary to Ina and Jeffrey! On the menu is shrimp with homemade cocktail sauce, steak with Béarnaise sauce, rosemary roasted potatoes, and string beans with shallots. After dinner Jeffrey surprises Ina with a trip to the beach for some brownies and a stroll along the water.

The Holidays are over and this week we are going back to school as Ina prepares lunches for Jeffrey while he is teaching in Connecticut! On the menu is butternut squash and apple soup, Chinese chicken salad, homemade croutons, almond chocolate iced coffee, and banana sour cream pancakes. Ina packs it all up in a cooler (with one of his favorite movies) and gives Jeffrey a proper send off!

Happy Holidays everyone! Ina and Jeffrey are kicking off the holiday season by spending with with their pals Barbara and Bobby Liberman in their Berkshire home. They kick off the first night with a fireside picnic in the Lieberman's kitchen that consists of a fabulous ham and cheese board made up of the Berkshire's best local ingredients. The next day Ina and Jeffrey divide and conquer with French toast and homemade fettuccine lessons. Then its homemade hot chocolate with the Liberman's with a side of local cookies and candies. The episode concludes with a Christmas lunch back in East Hampton with a slow roasted spiced pork, ginger shortbread, and local ice cream from the Berkshires! Happy Holidays everyone!

This week Miguel is in the backyard taking gorgeous photos of Ina's garden while she whips up a fabulous lunch and a healthy solo dinner after Miguel finishes his work. On the menu for lunch is lemon fusilli with arugula, plum cake tartin, and roasted tomatoes with fresh basil. For Ina's solo dinner she makes a salad with homemade basil green goddess dressing followed by a slideshow of Miguel's photos that he snapped earlier that afternoon.

Thanksgiving has finally arrived at the Garten household and Ina is cooking up a traditional feast with all of the trimmings, and NO HAM! On the menu is Turkey with herb and apple stuffing, pumpkin banana mousse tart, cranberry conserve, parmesan smashed potatoes and brussel sprouts. Dinner is kicked off with a champagne shower once the guests arrive and ends with a toast to (an absent) Jeffrey!
