Humans around the globe and across the total span of history have displayed a deep lack of contentment - a hunger for satisfaction. Using the story of the Biblical character Jacob, Theo presents to us the idea that a life story without a sense of resolution can be marked by a longing or dissatisfaction that can be unhelpful and unhealthy.
A constant longing for an answer that is just out of our reach, a feeling that our life has become a bit of a joke or a failure, a grab for blessing or success or fame done our own way. These things are not helpful for us, just as they were unhelpful for Jacob. However there is an answer and Theo explains to us God's plan for us to find satisfaction in life, so we don't become a bitter, jaded old Christian.
