  • Story of my grandsons and how this podcast got going
Today, I tell the story of my older grandsons and how this podcast go going. They had some problems to start with, but then my daughter had a terrible auto accident with them in the car. the oldest went to be with Jesus. The next was given zero percent chance of living. He turned 5 in a coma. The third, not yet two, was thrown from his care seat, out the windsheild, and his femur fractured, and had glass in his forehead.
We went to the "best ICU" in the state and got unimaginably bad "care." But we got help from a famous ministry that I happened to know in that town. And we got some healings - in a variety of ways.
i really credit the folks at that ministry especially for coming out to my grandson's memorial service. Gosh, that was kind. It is one thing, as a professional to provide one, but for lay folks just to come out; that is kind. And we got some healings. The second grandson woke from that coma, and started talking -- to the utter amazement of the speech therapist. And he is working now. Pediatricians were flabberghasted that he could walk. He can come close to being management, at 25, I am told.
Third grandson, I pulled glass out of his hair. And taught him to talk. He is a valuable tradesman, now at 22. And will have to make a hard decision about whether to take a supervisory position, too.
All this because I had a faith perspective.
And my pastor said, "Write a book!" Well, I did. And you can buy it: Learn at Home for Great Shalom. That is what I knew. That is why I told my father that there was not point in my earning money to save for the boys' college if they never learned to read. They did. But not because of doctors or schools, but because of Grandmother. And they are not the only ones. The Lord has sent me into schools a few times to rescue other children.
What about yours? You need to listen and learn, first the faith perspective, and then the right strategies for your children, grandchildren or students. God wants total well-being for all children. And you need to be part of providing that.
Also, other people need to know about it. I have been censored, I am told, because I have curated info about ... well you know... that also hurt children and old people. But God still wants total well-being for all children, old and young alike. And with faith and perserverence, we are going to be part of delivering that. Please help. Share face2face and otherwise, won't you?

  • Drone Reports as Thinking Exercise
Today we are posting our last 'cast of the year -- early. So, next week: Drone reports as a Thinking Exercise.
Those who watch news, especially indie news, know about the numerous drone citings and the discussion arising. Lots of questions. Many suggestions. Some fear mongering. Requests for more funding and more power. Accusations. You bet, the typical political discourse. And with reason.
By contrast, some homeschool moms, in fact most mothers, may be too busy to even care. "What could I do about it anyway?" Well, true. However, since at this point there is a lot of material to work with and no conclusion, this becomes a great thinking exercise. So, besides wanting to celebrate with grandchildren, now is a good time to post this episode. If after Christmas you have time to use this as an activity with your children or grandchildren, here you go. Fodder for thought.
Oh 12! I need a 12th! Some threat that means no inaugruation? And October 7 type attack? Yikes, is that 13? A false flag so that people won't allow Americans to fly drones in future? ????
What are the possibilities? What is the evidence? How do you know? What is most likely? What are the take-away "to-dos" or "not-to-dos?"
    Comment after more info:
Well, the most common and most dangerous default thinking is normalcy bias. If you are being attacked and don't realize it, that is bad. However, these days, we have a lot of fear porn. So, this is why thinking exercises are imperative. And for generations, few have been taught about it.

    COMMENT"
From Steve Deas as reported by Gary Humble & Kevin Kookeqy, TN Stands: Maybe the drones are flown because Congress has a bill ready to take more control over drones, so this is an operation to drum up popular support for limiting freedom.
From Gary Humbe, TN Stands: May AI has taken control of the drones and the military is frantically trying to get control back and that is why they don't want us to know.

  • Children are Important
Did you ever realize that at Christmas we celebrate a child? And it is a celebration most especially for children? Children are important. We can indeed, take that lesson away.
The angel indicated this was a great gift. Mary clearly was thrilled. The faithful of Israel were looking for this child for centuries. We should be thrilled too.
We, too, as parents and educators are highly favored and blessed. Let us take this knowledge and encourage ourselves -- and reform our culture with it.

  • Water Good News: a filtration system an basic health and detox step
Today, I explain the necessity and use of good, pure water. Then, I tell you what I did, why, and how you can do the same.
This is good news about water: a filtration system can be a basic step towards good health and detox.
Good water is vital for health. Alkaline water has health benefits. Basic good health starts with pure water, and in today's world the most important health measure is detoxing. For children, that means that fresh, good, pure water is the place to start.
Also, protecting against the possible threat of poisoned water could make sense.
So,today, I am suggesting you think about a whole house filter for your holiday gift to your own family.

  • Books on Character for Giving this Season
Today, we run a wonderful conversation with Carl Sommer, the owner of Advance Publishing, former public school teacher and Machine Shop owner. Such a wonderful memory of meeting Mr. Somer and his family! Amazing machine shop. Really great contribution in his writing and researching, coming out of being a NY public school teacher. Now, retired from business, he continues to run the publishing house and a TV show on Christian television. You will want to hear his story. Very encouraging.
You may also want to pick up some of his books. Here is the website for Advance: http://advancepublishing.com/ nThese books will be great for Christmas/Hanukah. They are exceptionally great for giving as gifts to public libraries and government schools -- who need some replacement books, don't you think? Each book demonstrates a character moral, but none is overtly religious. Mr. Sommer wrote them especially for elementary level public schools.

  • Where are the Pictures of the Pilgrims?
Where are the pictures of the pilgrims? How -- and why! -- has that history been erased. Let's think about that today.
This is a rerun from 2020. Some of us who said things that weren't always well received in 2020 can now legitimately toot our own horn. It is time for the recognition of discernment and wisdom.
Let's sort our our curricular problems in education, just as we sort out method. Our children should not be hampered by the refusal to teach them facts. Or by the lack of wisdom in how to teach them.
Today, not just a diatribe but some good ideas for what to do with the children this Thanksgiving weekend.
Let's also consider some gift giving -- whether Christmas, or if in your house it is Hanukah. Books are always great. We have some.
Here is a wonderful article by Marshall Foster on Thanksgiving and the character of the nation and its original founders.

  • How to Tell What is True
We have been in a series on how to think better. However, this is the first episode of the older series on how to tell what is true. Wow! is this ever a timely topic. More than half the country is rejoicing that we saved democracy from communists, and another large percentage of the country is lamenting that Hitler and the facists have just taken over, with a promise to end democracy. One party wants to return to the rule of law and the other is afraid of lawfare and weaponized government. It would be hilariously laughable if it were not so deadly serious.
However, this ability to tell what is true is not just a widespread life skill need, but it is particularly a "LD" need. Students with learning disabilities seem to be slower at "reading between the lines" precisely because they are spending so much energy on decoding what those words in the line mean. They may be slower at gaining "social skills" precisely because they are spending so much time on academic work. Of course, it also may be true that there are brain healing, detoxing, and growing issues, which we addressed in the more recent series.
In any case, this topic, how to tell what is true, is a huge need for everyone. Teacher and educators need to work with students who are having problems in school to directly teach this. It is a shame, of course, that this is not in the normal public school curricula. Wonder why that is?
Anyway, hope this helps you. Please like, share, and tell your friends.

Finishing up with our series on How to Think Better, which relates finally, to pursuing Truth. Then, mentioning the last election. So.... big announcement:
Starting a micro-school in Cedar Park.
Of course, will help start them elsewhere. Let us know your need.
Of course, continuing to consult for private schools and homeschoolers, for which, see www.orgstrat.net
Of course, continuing to help churches start licensed childcare centers: www.teachachildchangeanation.org

  • How to Think Better: Love the Truth
This is our capstone episode in our series on how to think better -- although it might not be the last. We have talked about the necessity of realizing that there is such a thing as Truth. Today, we will talk about the necessity of aligning with, pursuing the Truth, even loving the TRUTH.
I have made some argument that I hope and expect that non-believers will understand. Of course, I use some words of Jesus. I don't assume that everyone who listens is already a Christian believer. I do think they will understand, if they are just patient with my explanations aimed at those who don't already know Biblical language.
This is really vitally important, but overlooked in the discussion of how to think better, and how to tell what is truth. And that discussion is often overlooked for students with learning disabilities. Look, what is true and false, what is good and bad is not some esoteric subject that only graduate philosophy students can grasp. It is just that they know how important it is, and have language as well as motivation. This is an important subject to all people -- if they want to have successful, happy, good lives. So, let's not overlook it. Let's directly teach it, especially to students who maybe don't get it as quickly simply because they are immersed in the tedious aspect of academics!
And surely, if children are not "getting it" then it is time to directly teach it.
