Employees are not human capital, they’re just humans!

Here are some practical tactics to help with your leadership development and help you creating company culture.

* We need to look at a way we pay our team and be more creative with it.

* You have to identify how to motivate this person. Find a way to put fuel in their gas tank of the relationship they have with you.

* Give them a clear career road map. They need to understand it upfront.

* Continuous vision casting.

Communication is a HABIT! Know the employee love languages.

What would it be like if your employees are starting to think of creative ways to solve your company’s problem, and add value rather than just put holes in it? Would that be valuable to you?

How would you know right now if you’re a leader? You can’t succeed at a high lever on your own. You need a team. You have to be the leader of the team!

When I was in San Diego, I gave a presentation on employee culture and I wanna share it with you.

Whenever I ask every single employer what is their current biggest pain point? I always get the same result.

Number one is EMPLOYEE ISSUES!

Second is FINANCIAL UNCERTAINTY and lastly FINDING NEW CLIENTS OR GROWING AND SCALING THE BUSINESS.

Here’s one question I wanna ask: What is the most important thing that your business is supposed to do? What its function?

I want you to think that employee life cycle is like you’re getting married. There’s a wedding planning, the wedding and the final stage which is the marriage itself. I want you to prepare for the hardest part which is the MARRIAGE.

Prepare for the MARRIAGE not just the WEDDING.

Episode 181: Amateurs Focus On The Front End – Pros Focus On The Back End

Got 6 1/2 hour of solid content in my brain!! It’s AMAZING!! 

I went to Ludington and had to drive 8 hours to hang out with family for my niece’s birthday party. When I drive, it’s an amazing opportunity for me to learn.

Today, Chever Chapman posted a live video a few minutes ago and he was talking about how amateurs focus on the front end and pros focus on the back end same thing with Russell looks through some of the trainings I was going through alluding to the same idea.

It hit me because this is one of so many reasons why small companies can’t scale or can’t get enough big foundation.

The other problem is they are really scared to spend money to acquire customers.

It’s not about perfection it’s about progress. So people have fears, they put things off, they don’t build systems and they won’t delegate responsibility to other people because they know those people aren’t perfect.

But the underlying real problem? Is the lack of focus and obsession in sales marketing and being willing to spend intelligent money to acquire customers.

Episode 179: How Does Race Affect Your Home Service Business?

I got pissed off at school. I went to Lake Fenton, an all white, upper-class school. Well, eventually we had our first black girl come.

I had a crush on her, she was cute and nice, but…

Students didn’t like her. They would leave pictures on her locker of black people being lynched…

I was shocked. I was a very naive child and this was all super foreign to me, I had no clue these things happened, that racism was even a thing.

Long story short, she ended up leaving because it was an unsafe environment for her.

I would fight with my dad about these issues.

Finally, I worked in repo around 20 years old. A lot of the cars we repoed were in Flint, MI.

There were 100s of people outside. We were the only white people for miles. I was a spoiled, aggressive, white kid from the suburbs. It was an adrenaline rush and it mostly was during the night, in the inner city, poverty-ridden places.

Then, I had a company and hired a black guy. I slowly realized that people hated him. He received racial comments and issues when I would send him out. I went as far as FIRING customers. The way people treated him made me want to throw up.

Today, I talk to Jake Ness, one of my newer Bootcampers who had a successful business doing almost half a million already!

Let's start with some background. They offer primarily concrete & stone grinding and polishing. But, we started out as window cleaners and transitioned into some higher profit service. Carpet cleaning, tile & grout cleaning then hardwood floor cleaning and polishing, which are the 5 main services we are focusing on this year.

We found that in our LA market there are a number of commercial property managers and in need of high-level service. They have Class A which means they have to have a certain level of cleanliness. This means they can charge their clients more because it takes a lot to become Class A and keep it up. They have to have certain levels of things, so we found a niche market from there.

Well, during one of our coaching calls, I asked him what his #1 highest return marketing thing was.

The answer was...LUNCH!

He made $50,000 from ONE lunch...WHAT?!
