What is Constitutional Carry? Guy explains. He then discusses the evolution of Indiana's Constitutional Carry law, and the huge hurdles it overcame to become law. Phil Brown of Revere's Riders drops by. Guy explains with Phil why gun ownership is associated with Patriotism. Brandon Kollar from Edge Independent Product Developers to talk about his “AR Lower Parts Holding Template". Legislators Peggy Mayfield and Jim Lucas drop by to end the show. Their advocacy for Constitutional Carry helped get the law passed.

Guy Relford is back for another edition of the Gun Guy on 93.1 WIBC. In today's show Guy begins the show talking about how some in social media are holding him, and other defenders of the 2nd Amendment, responsible for recent mass shootings. Guy asks “what shall our response be when attacked by those who oppose the 2nd Amendment?” Guy argues that the 2nd Amendment preserves the right of individuals to bear arms. He explains that a “well regulated militia” does not mean that the government can “regulate” guns. As settled by the Supreme Court in the District of Columbia v. Heller case, a “well regulated militia” is a militia that works, not one that is regulated. As always Guy takes calls from listeners throughout the show.

Guy opens the show with a sporting clay course he took on Saturday and his desire to get better when it comes to his firearm training – maybe that’s just Guy’s competitive streak. He also sets the agenda for a jam packed Saturday on the show.

(13:14-22:14) Guy opens the second segment with a phone call from a friend that organized an Intro to Sporting Clay course that Guy helped promote. Guy and Andy have a great conversation about upcoming sporting clay events around central Indiana.

(22:15-30:09) We always love talking to listeners of the Gun Guy show and that’s what we did in the third segment. Guy goes to the phone lines to talk about what’s on the minds of the audience.

(30:10-35:10) The first hour ends with another phone call and Guy returns to the importance of training courses.

(35:11-46:58) Training is the main topic today on the Gun Guy show and the studio if filled with people to talk about just that to start hour two. John Murphy, a firearms instructor, joins the show to talk about the training course he taught that Guy participated in. Guy is also joined by a pair of shooters that took John’s Street Encounters class a couple weeks ago as they all detail what was so useful about the class and what type of training it entailed.

(46:59-57:29) The conversation with John Murphy around his Street Encounters class continues into the second segment of the hour with Guy and his fellow classmates.

(59:12-1:11:55) Guy ends the show with Indiana Attorney General, Todd Rokita. Guy and Attorney General Rokita talk about what’s going on at the Indiana Statehouse as well as constitutional carry. They discuss a case going on in California and how that might impact legislation in the state of Indiana. Rokita talks about how decisions around the country can impact what’s happening in the Hoosier state and issues surrounding the second amendment.

Ryan and Guy are joined by Tamara Watson to talk about the importance of trying out as many guns as possible when deciding which firearm to purchase. Tammy details a class she teaches that allows each student to shoot a lot of different firearms. Simply put, don’t let someone tell you what the best gun is for you without shooting it for yourself.

Guy is joined by Ryan Christopher from Rock N’ Guns, a custom holster company in Indianapolis. Guy and Ryan start with a description of Ryan’s business and how the holster company began and Ryan gives us a crash course on the holster industry. Then, the conversation turns to carry methods and how to decide which method is the best for each individual gun owner. Ryan Christopher comes back for a second segment and this segment revolves around what is the best gun to buy and what goes into making that decision. Ryan and Guy each give advice when it comes to making that selection and what they tell the people who ask them for advice.

(0:00-13:33) Guy Relford is back for another edition of the Gun Guy on 93.1 WIBC after last week’s “Best Of” the Gun Guy Show. Guy starts the show with a class he took last week in Martinsville covering potentially violent street encounters. Guy details what was discussed in terms of decision making, shooting and certain scenarios. Then, he talks about an encounter he had on Monday afternoon in downtown Indianapolis on Monument Circle.

(13:34-19:15) It’s officially election season around Indiana and primary elections are taking place on May 3. Guy discusses what he’s concerned about ahead of primaries at the beginning of the week.

(19:16-30:32) District 57 Republican Candidate Melinda Griesemer joins the show to talk about why she decided to run for statehouse representative, constitutional carry and the type of legislation she would push if she were to be elected in District 57.

 (30:33-35:44) To round out the first hour, Guy discusses an organization called the Liberty Defense PAC and questions the legitimacy and credibility of their posts including a post they made on Friday afternoon.  

(35:45-52:32) To kick off the second hour, Guy is joined by Indiana State Representative Jake Teshka to discuss the claims that the aforementioned Liberty Defense PAC made about Teshka trying to tear down constitutional carry. Jake and Guy discuss a number of topics from Tuesday’s primary election, what Liberty Defense is trying to do and the falsehoods the PAC is pushing during primary season. To finish the conversation, Guy and Jake talk about the strategy of using failure as a political strategy in the statehouse.

(52:33-58:48) Guy continues to the discussion he and Jake had about the Liberty Defense PAC and the tactics they are using.

(58:49-1:07:23) Constitutional carry will go into effect on July 1. Despite that accomplishment, there are other issues that Guy and the 2A Project want to address in Indiana legislation. Guy discusses a handful of topics that should get some attention now that constitutional carry has made its way through the statehouse. That includes a discussion about discrimination from financial institutions against businesses in the firearms industry.  

(1:07:24-1:12:29) To round out the show, Guy returns to the financial institution discrimination issue and what needs to be done in Indiana to resolve it.
